Maharlika, CA 87.3707. Onyx A, OH 84.0008. Cascadia Winterguard, OR 81.3708. Glory A, TX 81.37010. Carolina Visual Productions, NC 81.19011. Batavia Winterguard, NY 80.80012. Forest Hills, OH 79.310 Gates Chili in a medal position feels right to me. I think I expressed as much in the East Regional thread, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how they weren't running away with that show.

Combined Full Schedules & Full Scores: hornrank.proboards.com/post/72637A Finals Schedule
Day 2 | Fri. April 12 Location: University of Dayton Arena Independent A

11:15 PM - A Class Finals Conclude 11:45 PM - A Class Finale Begins Maharlika with only 3:15 between the time they step off the floor to back on the floor for their finals performance. 195 Total Minutes. -20 Minutes: Walk out of Truist and load buses -90 Minutes: Travel from Truist to UD (assuming no further traffic delays) -20 Minutes: Unload and travel from buses into UD arena -30 Minutes: Warmup ------------------------- 160 Minutes total allocated time out of a possible 195 Minutes. That's if they completely rush and everything goes according to plan, and if they stay in their show attire/makeup the entire time. 35 Minutes to spare and catch their breath. I hope they packed food and filled up those buses in advance. I don't think I've seen timing this tight before. I'm now also realizing that having SA go on last (as opposed to the other classes where Independent goes on last) isn't about giving them the spotlight; it's completely logistical. With so many more SA groups in semis, it's completely impossible to have SA go first as semi's are ongoing.

I'm curious why Belleville West isn't advancing. Don't they always allow tied scores for the last spot to advance? I was also very confused when I didn't see them on the schedule. I thought WGI didn't break ties unless it was in finals But also, Garland moved on? Which, I'm so happy for them as well, but....confusing!

Which, I'm so happy for them as well, but....confusing! That part makes sense to me, as it needs to be a 28/28 split between the two locations due to a different judging panel. Where I'm hung up is that it should be 57 units in semi-finals. The highest scoring color guards will advance to Semi-finals, regardless of the round in which they competed. In the case of multiple preliminary contest sites, an equal amount from each contest site will be taken to make the total number of semi-finalists. For example, two Preliminary contest sites resulting in 48 semi-finalists and different panels of judges are used, the top 24 color guards from each contest site will advance. If there are multiple contest sites and the same panel of judges adjudicates at both sites, the top 48 overall highest scores will advance regardless of contest site.

Okay, so I'm incredibly sorry for the confusion I've caused, but NEITHER Belleville West nor Diamond Bar advanced, as they were tied for 29th at their contest site. However, Upper Moreland HS and Garland HS advanced, as they were 28th/27th at their site. I just didn't read the schedule closely last night, I guess I was too tired lol. I'm updating the combined score sheet right now to accommodate.

Also for Eagle Mountain, hearing them & other groups in the past use that Game of Thrones song with different types of narration just throws me off thinking of the scene it's used in lol

And they're all so uniquely different in approach. Still wild to me to see shows about events that happened practically down the street from where I grew up.

Kid and I took a break but came back in for the top 5 and I would put them: 1. Noir 2. Gold 3. Gates Chili (also, today I learned this isn't pronounced like the food?) 4. Les Eclipses 5. Georgia State But all within about a 1.25 spread

Noir did have a phenomenal run.. can't wait to see during retreat!

Finally got a chance to tune into SA Finals - much later than I wanted to!!!! Mt. Vernon was so so good, loved the ramps, lots of nice moments of switching off equipment w/ partners - S.O.-level writing & work! Very very well done.

Loved it, Lexington - excellent excellent training across the board and a textbook example of A-class writing polished to hell and back. I feel like their production should be mandatory viewing for SA directors across the country every season - perfectly class-specific writing and just clever enough. What a tight, clear performance!
