Some of these results were very... interesting. Yikes. Blue Springs sounded good, but Rosemounts level of execution in visual was extremely good. GE I’m surprised Blue Springs didn’t win tbh Who says I was talking about Blue Springs 👀👀 But I did agree with Rosemount over Blue Springs.

Performance order is going to be huge tonight. If MFA would update their website and give us a finals schedule, that'd be great...

I thought Blue Springs didn't sound as good as usual (especially comparing across each of the regionals) and Rosemount definitely impressed me with an extremely beautiful show. I wouldn't have imagined a sweep though.

You really have to give it Camdenton, though. Beating out Lockport and Lincoln for the top 5 spot.

Yep, I thought Camdenton performed their show extremely well and definitely deserves that spot

What are thoughts on Morton's performance and rank?

What are thoughts on Morton's performance and rank? Thought they were good. Personally, I would have had them over Marian in prelims. Not anywhere close to the level of demand, but far better put together.

What are thoughts on Morton's performance and rank? I was not surprised to see them get 3rd in AA. I was surprised not to see them in finals.

Definitely not the caliber of years past but felt they should have placed higher than MC. I just don't get MC show or music. It wasn't melodic to me. Not sure if Morton's placement has to do with director change or change from a more serious musical subject to fun but I thought they still should have placed higher.

Where has this Independence band been hiding? They are really good! I looked them up, 679 students 7-12, so what, maybe 300 10-12??

Morton has never been super top-tier. They’re a good band though. Probably final 2-3 out today. Not at the level of the other AA bands — I think Marian, for ex., is struggling w/ their show.

They went to Nats this past fall with a score of 69.95 and 8th overall in class A prelims. Very surprised to see them this high based off those results alone.

Where 👏🏼 are 👏🏼 the recaps 👏🏼 Got a glance at the finals recap. VPI judge gave Blue Springs a J.J. Pipitone-esque margin over the field. That was enough to make the difference. Such is life in marching band, but good for Blue Springs for putting enough out there to take home their first ever regional win!

Sometimes they gotta make everyone happy. That said this kinda shakes the St. Louis Super Regional a bit, don't you think?

Yes this is Blue Springs first regional win at the very first BOA regional held in Iowa. Blue Springs is also the first band from Missouri to win a regional title. This is also the closet that Rosemount or any Minnesota band has come to winning a regional.

I'm glad the BOA did this Regional. This is a great venue for Northern bands that has difficulties going to the midwest BOAs. I can see the likes of Eden Prairie, Bellevue West, and Brandon Valley attending this soon. I'm very happy with my North bands Rosemount, Independence, and Lincoln for representing incredibly in the finals, bravo! Thank you for giving us all a fantastic night of performance!

1. Rosemount, not playing around this year at all. Very impressive. 2. Even bigger wow on Camdenton jumping into top 3 when the prelims judges had them clearly out. 3. Interesting to see a lot of movement in the bottom 6 from prelims to finals. Did the bands just check out during prelims or something?
For reference: Independence (6th -> 8th) Blue Springs South (7th -> 10th) Lockport (8th -> 6th) Lincoln (9th -> 7th) Nixa (10th -> 9th)

I'm guessing Rosemount is going to unveil the full show at the Youth In Music Minnesota State Championship in US Bank Stadium on October 12. I can't wait to see it.

What did people think about Lincoln's show?

What did people think about Lincoln's show? I liked the concept a lot, but not much else. The staging bothered me a lot (guard staged mostly behind the band at all times, and wasn’t a huge fan of the execution of the prop up front). I thought they executed well, but I think the design may hold them back.
