Hmmmm, interesting. I wonder why MFA hasn’t removed them from the schedule yet. Thanks for the information, though!

Does GC have the Fishers event on their calendar? It's possible they might perform both- They go on at 10:00 am at Obetz and 6:00ish at Fishers. Certainly enough time to make both events if they choose to do so.

I guess feedback from 2 different judge lineups?

They aren't going to Columbus at all is my understanding talking to some friends who live out that way and know some band members.

Here’s my prediction for the full prelims lineup (because why not) [...] 14. Mt. Lebanon 15. Westland 16. Newark 17. Firestone 18. Logan Elm Haven't seen Logan Elm yet but based on OMEA results so far, I suspect they'll place above Firestone (whom I have seen) and maybe Newark as well.
That said, based on Newark's fun, quirky shows the past two years, I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best!

Could Dublin Coffman be third here? I haven’t seen them in a few years but I know they’re another large Ohio band... made semis in like 2013??? I think the last show I saw of them was the one with the violin in the field... say 2017? I remember being impressed with the show although it was somewhat dirty

Last time Lakota East went against Kiski in a regional was 2017 at Dayton, while Lakota got 3rd behind Carmel and Avon and Kiski got 7th with a decent gap between the two groups. Taking that into consideration, and the fact that 2018 was an even better year for Lakota East in the sense that they scored really high at Bowling Green, made finals at the super regional, and made semi finals at gn above groups like Fort Mill, I’m just going to say Lakota has a really good chance of winning, especially if they improved from last year. I don’t disagree with the idea of Kiski grabbing one of the captions though, since they are a smaller school and it’s likely they have clean drill, but I can also see this being a complete blowout for Lakota. Judging by how crazy the results for last week were, I guess really anything could happen! Even though there was a bigger margin in 2017 between the two, 2017 was not an amazing year for kiski. They were good but 2018 was also a much better season for them. Henry Clay also beat Kiski at the Dayton regional, but then Kiski beat Henry Clay in 2018 so i am curious to see what will happen.

I'm heading down to the other show in Columbus today, but I wanted to let folks know that there's a free live stream today of the Drum Corps Europe finals. Not sure about the timing (they're five hours ahead of the eastern U.S., I believe), but it's possible that you could see some corps performance for free during breaks in BOA's streams(s). Here is the link: Drum Corps Europe livestreamAt least two of the corps there have traveled to the U.S. before; and one of them, Kidsgrove Scouts, is planning to go to DCI next year.

Pretty good showing from Lakota East. I'm very curious how this show will develop and finish design-wise, and it also reminds me of a rearranged Mason 2016. They should be in a good spot to win tonight, but we'll see after everyone else performs.
Milford was ok for me. I thought they really didn't play much at all though, and I thought their show last year was much more exciting.
Also never seen Oakville before, but I'd imagine they would be in finals although in the bottom half as they have a lot of refining to do.

Pleasantly surprised by Dublin Coffman and thought overall they seem a bit better than a few of their previous years.
Moon Area was also surprising performed well, and I enjoyed their show design.
Pickerington North started off extremely strong with their woodwind section, but they needed a lot of fine tuning (especially in the brass) as the show progressed.

Here's how I'd rank the ones I watched today. I'd assume they will all make finals, although not sure about who will fill the last 2 spots though.

Does anyone have information on Westland (or what other circuits they usually compete in)? I can't say I've heard of them

I can't say I've heard of them Westland is in the same district as Grove City and Central Crossing, FWIW IIRC, they and CC both dropped their marching band programs around the same time 8-10 years ago before picking them back up 5ish(?) years back
