The DFW regional (where ever it is held) is always a good one. Add that Owasso will be venturing down makes it more fun

Interesting. I've never heard of that school! They were at the Bedford regional last year, as well. Placed 24th.

Interesting. I've never heard of that school! The newest sister school to Wakeland, Lebanon Trail, Liberty, et al, in Frisco ISD.

And if I remember right, Frisco ISD is notable for being a massive suburban school district that likes to keep their class sizes & school communities at a more neighborhood-esque size, and are constantly opening new schools to maintain that, so even though it's similar to giant communities like Mansfield/Plano/etc, most of their high schools are 4A & 5A. kind of a neat way of doing things, creating small community feels in the middle of a giant suburb.
Edit: I didn't realize how well they kept to that small communities mindset by continuously opening new schools in their rapidly-growing district...according to Wikipedia, SIX of their ten high schools opened within the past 10 years, with two more currently funded!! Wow.

Wow. They've also never once faltered in this mission. None of their schools have ever been 6A or Old 5A. Although Wakeland has gotten perhaps a little too close for comfort in the last couple of realignments.

When's the last time more than one non-Texas group competed at a regional in Texas?

When's the last time more than one non-Texas group competed at a regional in Texas? Midland Regional in 2017 had Bellevue West H.S., NE and Clovis H.S., NM. Besides that, I think not for a few years.

There is talk of a Kansas group thinking about heading to a certain Texas regional next year. That sounds...like an awful idea Not if you're a AA band attending a regional where 95% of the bands have historically been AAA or AAAA.
