I was going through results of the late 2000s and early 2010s and noticed Vandegrift's absolute dominance. As far as I know they are the only band to have one a class class championship title in all 4 classes, A-AAAA, and to make it even more impressive, they made finals at least once in all of the classes. Here's a list of their championship titles:

2010 Arlington, TX - 1st in Class A
2010 The Woodlands, TX - 1st in Class A (3rd overall in finals)
2010 San Antonio, TX - 1st in Class A
2011 Conroe, TX - 1st in Class AA
2012 Denton, TX - 1st in Class AA (6th overall in finals)

2016 Austin, TX - 1st in Class AAAA (1st overall in finals)

2019 Grand Nationals - 1st in Class AAAA (1st overall in finals)

Truly a model program with some incredible history.

2010 was their first year in BOA and I believe the first year the school had a marching band. Vandegrift opened in 2009. In 2010 the band consisted of just freshman and sophomores. That third overall finish at The Woodlands regional turned out to be an indicator of things to come.

Vandegrift actually opened with freshmen and sophomores so it had juniors when they entered the BOA circuit. They actually still weren’t marching a drumline yet that year!

On the UIL side, most first year programs take the first year of UIL off and participate as a non-varsity school. Vandegrift instead went full force and was named alternate to area in one of the more competitive, if not most competitive, then-4A/now-5A area in 2009.

I can see the new Johnson school out of Buda being very successful in UIL very quickly as well.

This is not a major accomplishment, but DeSoto Central High School was the first band from Mississippi to make semi-finals at Grand National competition back in 2017 with their show “In the Old Moon’s Arms”

No they weren't. Jackson Academy was... three (?) times.

Yes that is correct, Jackson Academy was a semi finalist multiple times.

I will add this; most successful Mississippi bands in BOA per decade:

1970s: Kosciusko
1980s: Pearl
1990s: Jackson Academy
2000s: Jackson Academy
2010s: Desoto Central
