Truly a model program with some incredible history.
Vandegrift actually opened with freshmen and sophomores so it had juniors when they entered the BOA circuit. They actually still weren’t marching a drumline yet that year!
On the UIL side, most first year programs take the first year of UIL off and participate as a non-varsity school. Vandegrift instead went full force and was named alternate to area in one of the more competitive, if not most competitive, then-4A/now-5A area in 2009.
