Lambert having poor visual scores is more bizarre considering their band director is the VCH at Crown... This is not an abnormality. Lambert was the best playing band today by a wiiiiiiiiiiiiide margin. They also did not have much to offer up visually. This^

Combine a good designer with a school with good resources, good leadership and strong socioeconomics you can usually build something. Throw in the backing of a 23k kid school corp where the assistant superintendent for fine arts is the Phantom Regiment director they have resources unavailable to most Indiana Class B/BOA AA bands. This whole thing felt inevitable when they brought in the Wes Pendergrass team. Great designer, better person. Love hearing him talk about anything pageantry arts. Heck, he is a great listen when talking about concert band as well.

Most of us slept on Lambert ... and especially Hoover The scores Lambert earned yesterday (75.9 and 76.9) were indeed better than the 73.5 I felt they deserved for last year's Metallica submission mentioned the other day. As for Hoover, I feel like they're generally near the top when people here list Alabama's best bands. (Although what I first think of when Hoover is mentioned is the first time I heard of them: it was in a post on the now-defunct Music for All forums, some eight or nine years ago, by someone who was upset that some Alabama judges had put them behind Grissom (also a new name to me) at a local contest. When I watched video of both bands, it seemed clear to me that Grissom was, at that point in that season, delivering the stronger show.)

After seeing everything so far, I really would’ve liked JFB’s chances here. Not necessarily to win the regional but maybe challenge. Definitely medal. What a crazy couple of seasons they are going through. Medaling in Conway will be the goal at this point I presume. At any rate, North def got my respect after having never seen them before.

I happened to tune in for them and I was super impressed. The design team really did an excellent job with the show, and the kids are delivering. I wouldn't be surprised to see them stick a solid 2nd here. They were grossly underestimated in these prediction threads. What they have is really special. Kudos to team dust bunny, that show was everything I never knew I needed to see out of a marching band. Loved the creativity and song selection! Absolutely underestimated as most had them anywhere from 7th to 11th. They are the state class B defending champs in Indiana! Shouldn't have been overlooked. Go Green Brigrade!
