Panther Creek Invitational 9/28 top ten
Green Hope 81.2 Cary 77.8 Corinth Holders 74.9 Middle Creek 73.5 Cape Fear 73.1 Sanderson 68.5 Enloe 67.9 Green level 66.5 Millbrook 66.0 Fuquay Carina 64.1
Green Hope was dominant in all GE captions and won all others except visual performance where they were just behind Middle Creek.
Today Panther Creek, Cary and Cleveland go head to head which will help sort out who's perhaps having a big year.

This was talking about Harrison lmao Why? Are they planning to chunk things into the stands? Watch them use the BA props from 2017 where no one could see over them whatsoever.

I thought some of the big PC bands before their split were dirty and just never cleaned up much - save for maybe last yr

Cape Fear lost their class to a nonBOA band. And Cape Fear misses finals at the Mid-Atlantic regional. Is this season just a stumble for CF or was there a big change?

My opinion only having seen them almost every year is that their playing has always been suspect but with a smaller wind size it's more exposed and they had an absolutely world class guard that has not beenat the same standard. Where it once papered over the musical weaknesses, it's no longer enough. I think it's a trend at this point.

I attended this one:
38th Annual North Coast Competition (Perkins H.S., Sandusky, OH -- OMEA)
In each category, only the top two were announced.
Class B/C 1. Wellington 2. Liberty-Benton
Class A 1. Cloverleaf -- I 2. Newton (3. Coventry ?) (4. Tallmadge ?)
Class AA 1. Kings -- Visual, Percussion -- I -- Grand Champion 2. Medina -- General Effect -- I (3. North Royalton ?) -- Music, Guard -- I (4. Mentor ?) -- I
I think the judges blew it. Given the caption split, I presume the scores among the top three were *very* close, but to me and everyone I spoke to there, North Royalton and Medina were obviously better than Kings, who shouldn't have been in the mix based on that performance. Once North Royalton was announced as best music, I figured that sealed them for first, since that was their diciest major caption.

I saw Catawba Ridge (split from Ft. Mill and Nation Ford), they're doing really well. They play well and move exceptionally well, to be expected with Carolina Crown's visual caption head as one of their directors. They would do very well in BOA Class A of they were doing BOA. I expect them to be a power pretty quickly, maybe as soon as next year.

KMMI, Kennesaw GA
1. 91.05 Harrison GE, Visual (tie with nafo), guard, perc 2. 90.75 Nation Ford (SC) Music, visual (tie with Harrison) 3. 88.70 Pope 4. 86.35 North Cobb 5. 85.90 East Coweta 6. 82.30 Cambridge 7. 79.80 Lumpkin County lol 8. 76.35 Campbell 9. 72.90 Leeds
Not bad for Nafo doing pretty well the year after the split with CR. About the same result as last year at Jacksonville. Nation ford has a much shorter season this year and Harrison Is I’m sure playing the long game. Last week nation ford was only playing through their ballad, have no idea how much they played here, same with Harrison.

Is there a way we can keep competitions that aren’t Horn Rank “featured” contests (BOA contests, Golden Regiment Invitational, Bentonville Invitational, etc.) or State Championship contests off of this main Competitions page and in the Local Invitational/Contest Results thread, instead?

No worries, haha, maybe I’m a jerk for saying anything. Sorry for the not-so-warm welcome. Can’t speak to Kings but assume their show design and concept is superior to what I have seen from Medina and NR. Those two present a typical Ohio show. They would not fare well in a Midstates or BOA show.
