When Colts announced their show, they broke it into four movements: I. Field Day II. Harvest III. Battlefield IV. Seeds of Love
And as some of those titles indicate, and as many observers have noticed, the movements also reflect summer, autumn, winter, and spring, in that order.
But what does winter have to do with battle? I can't speak for the Colts' designers, but my first thought was of "Now is the winter of our discontent made glorious summer by this sun of York," the opening line of Shakespeare's play Richard III, in which "winter of our discontent" refers to the battles in the early years of the Wars of the Roses that brought Richard's brother Edward to the throne.

As a Colts alum I still think there is a lot of cleaning and room to grow. With that said while I think the show design is a bit hokey, last year's was too and by the end of the season we were all sold. This is a very difficult show, and their sound and marching are very exposed and nuanced. For the concept, I think the seasons was sort of the B storyline, while the 4 movements you mentioned above are the A storyline.

I didn't really appreciate the two-toned uniforms in early viewings, but they're getting more effective.
They do need to figure out the bridge in "First Circle." Not change it, I think: but clean, clean, clean it.
