O’Fallon with audio issues throughout the second half and at the end. Not going to cut it with the level of competition today. someone’s a ray of sunshine I thought they were great and I’ve seen many groups have technical issues in semis and still get a finals slot. We’ll see!

You can feel MGH's passion as an educator by watching her sideline reactions. There's a lot to be proud of here. Allohak said it best when he mentioned a finalist aura. They carry themselves so professionally throughout the entire production. I don't think the audio issues will play any major factor here.

Hot take - you have to be Carmel-level clean to run a show that safe and make it to the finals. lol “safe.” That is the one thing Bridgeland’s show is not. Maybe in the modern era of choreography and park n bark heavy shows, thinking has become warped. You think a more traditional style show focused on marching while playing, marching at very high speeds in complex and symmetric geometric forms stretching from 5 yard line to 5 yard line for 90% of the show leaving you wide open for tears is …safe? I’ll eat crow if Bridgeland doesn’t make finals tonight. They’re all my kiddos and they had a brilliant run of a technically demanding show. Amen. The show may not have been dripping in props and fabric like some of the other contenders but these kids marched and played really, really well. It’s a tough competition so who knows where they’ll end up but that was by no means a safe show. Incredibly exposed, especially at key moments in the end of the opener and closer

Did anyone else's screen just go completely blank, or is my PC having a moment?

Believe me when I say this in love - this has been a fight for decades with BOA. The reason ABC have consistently been top contenders is because they learned what wins. This is art at the end of the day and comes with a subjective aspect. I wish your band the best but we are all band nerds on here who have seen what makes and it doesn’t make it. We’re not the judges who decide. But yes park and bark works. They want music complexity and sometimes value it more than technical marching difficulty. And yes they want choreography. That’s what wins these days.

I think American Fork just punched their ticket to finals.
Given their snub in 2022, I sure hope I'm right.

I’m torn on the AF show. It has finalist written all over and I personally LOVED it, I’m just not sure that performance wise it’s at the same level as some of the other bubble bands? Hopefully I’m wrong because I really enjoyed it.

My monitor glitched out halfway through AF's show, so I unfortunately only got to watch the first half (watched prelims, thankfully), but what I heard was excellent throughout. No sense from my end of whether they'll make finals, but I'm really pulling for them. That's a big stage worthy show.

What a passionate performance, American Fork!!!! Does it make it tonight? I sure hope so, but too close to call as of now. They sure put everything into that performance.
I have to say on the second read that I wish they had brought a better-constructed show to GN. They are wonderful, I just don't know if the architecture of the show is Finalist-level, but that group breathes life into like there's no tomorrow. Makes me wonder how well they can do pairing their passionate groups with a tighter design. If they make Finals, and I think they made a really strong case to do so, I will be beyond thrilled for this hard-working group. If they don't, I would like to see them try again with a stronger design that really allows them to shine and excel forward.

Where are the American Fork block of seats tonight? Want to see if I need to change my seats.
Their fans are enthusiastic! They like to talk a lot during other performances as well and I just want to make sure I can hear the show!

On a slightly off-topic note, no Chuck Henson this year? I feel like post-Covid he's just been announcing for Finals. Could be misremembering but Dan Potter etc seem to do the bulk of the weekend.

On a slightly off-topic note, no Chuck Henson this year? He had some health issues (detached retina) several times. He’s not announcing at all, which is the first time since (I think) the Silverdome era of Nationals.
