Biggest Comebacks: - Lawrence Township and Fishers - LT definitely showed up throughout the entire year ready to show that they could rebound from a rocky start, starting from their low placement in the very beginning of the season at the Avon Invitational to catching up with Fishers at ISSMA, all the way to settling at 14th in Grand Nationals
- Fishers started off slow, getting movements out and developing the show week by week, and coupled with nasty wind from ISSMA Semi-State to an upset in ISSMA finals proved their tenacity after just barely missing finals at Grand Nationals with a 13th place finish
- Avon, Grand Nationals - While they didn't win this year, their performance in finals combined with Hebron were able to steal away many first places from Vandegrift, allowing for one of the best Indiana vs. Texas fights ever

Best Uniform - Half the bands were not wearing uniforms (I am old school), they were wearing costumes. Of those that did; Hebron Ha ha. Thank you for acknowledging this. I'm old school myself (username checks out) and I've been crankily whining about this for a couple of years. The battle is lost in DCI and will soon be lost at the upper levels of High School. Just one more thing that will separate the haves and have nots on the field. Full marks to Carmel, Hebron, and all the other groups that wore uniforms, as opposed to show-specific costumes. Enough ranting. Time for my hot chocolate and morning nap.

Enough ranting. Time for my hot chocolate and morning nap. I love traditional uniforms as well but I’m coming around to enjoying these costumed bands too.. Leander seems to have struck a nice balance with a very snazzy updated uniform that they can wear for football games and BOA events and still look quite sharp at both. CTJs dance style BOA uniforms are jaw dropping. I admit I didn’t care for the blue and green velour looking ones they used to wear, but this updated version they’ve worn the past three seasons is simply phenomenal. The way they can add a few layers to it to beautifully complement their theme is just incredible. And this season’s Lion King version of their costume should win some sort of Emmy/Academy/Oscar award. I mean COME ON! We definitely need to add an award for best uniform to BOA along with auxiliary and percussion.

Apologies to all, but I have to put this out there regarding Leander's props: those are cooling towers that are used on many types of power plants (including, but not exclusive to, some (but not all) types of nuclear power plants), not nuclear reactors.

Surprised nobody has called out the flute soloist from Lake Hamilton. Her passage to close their show was the purest tonality imaginable in both prelims and semifinals.

You just HAD to go there didn’t you? Also when a reactor melts down, the cooling tower does not explode. Great visual effect, and I love the way it was timed with 1812...but they should have been penalized for bad physics. I am thinking 15 points in the Semi’s

The music was incredible and the GE insane, regardless of the improper use of towers.

I guess we should also penalize CTJ as I have never seen a lion that could play saxophone.
