I can confirm that Park Vista will be attending Orlando this year as it is already scheduled on our calendar!
I’ve also been talking to some of my other good friends about the possibility of Wando coming down to compete against Tarpon and the rest of us Florida bands since there isn’t an Atlanta super regional and I would be really excited to go head to head against them since we didn’t get the chance to last year. Can’t wait for this marching season to start back up! 😁

So, Park Vista was the band of conversation after Orlando last year (especially among those of us hyping Tarpon for the Eagle) but I want to just make a note on someone else...
STONEMAN DOUGLAS
They were so good. Yes, they've got some balance problems but I was blown away. I have returned to that show SO many times - it's a gem. If MSD can continue on that level of success, I'd love to see them medal here.

Yeah, SD is getting really good. It’s quite fitting, if you ask me.

I wouldn’t forget about Timber Creek (FL) either, they’re sneaking up too recently, and they were just behind Stoneman last year

Adding Brownsburg (IN) to the confirmed list here. There's another band I'm hearing that may be coming but I'll hold off on that speculation. It's one everyone has heard of though. #suchatease

At least three 2018 national finalists will be competing here. There might even be as many 2018 national finalists at this event as there will be at 2019 Grand Nats.

If I had to pick, I would say any of the following are potential attendees... Tarpon Springs (confirmed) Wando (rumored) Broken Arrow Prosper Carmel Avon Will definitely not be... William Mason Dobyns-Bennett Blue Springs (if rumor to SA is true) Ahhhh. Blue Springs. That is the 3rd band I was thinking of as a possible out of state attendee this fall in San Antonio!

I would've thought Brownsburg would've gone to Toledo or Dayton so this is a nice surprise. They should definitely be a lock for finals.

I think with beaches and theme parks close by this regional has an extra incentive for groups from up north to attend. the stadium isn't perfect to host a super but its not terrible, and if they hold it later in the season its not so blazing hot or rainy (last year was brutal sun till the afternoon) so it becoming the new southeastern super regional is a possibility. Tropicana field may be covered but the acoustics and stands are terrible so i'm happy they have it in Orlando. I expect the list will have a few more surprises and i'm excited to see the variety.

As I understand it: 1) Orlando falls during Brownsburg's two-week fall break, so it's great timing for a nice trip for the kids, 2) They are expanding their experience in BOA competition, 3) There's an appearance opportunity coming up next year or 2021 that they want to clear the schedule for, so they're adjusting their alternating-year travel plans.

If it is BA, I think they will definitely claim first here, but it will also leave an extra spot open in GN finals

Watch this be a total swerve and instead of BA, Jenks is going instead. 😂

All the hype! lol. I'm hoping for a few surprises on the list. Last year was a fun regional, hopefully the stadium staff run it better. We felt like there were some safety issues with locked gates and the concessions were too few for the performers and fans. Bring your own food in your car and hop out there at lunch break or you will miss one of the performances. If it expands enough to be a super regional (wishful thinking?) then it will be pretty hectic.

Many bands that do not get to travel all the way to Indianapolis, St. Louis, or San Antonio would really benefit from it and could see very rapid growth. However, I could see BOA choosing an area further north for a super regional rather than another Southern one. Maybe one in Pennsylvania because of its rich BOA history? Or a North East state like Oregon? I don't see another Super Regional coming for a while, but when it does, there are many areas more than ready to host one. I would love to see one in Orlando, but sadly I don't see that happening.

The stadium is large enough but not covered. The parking is an issue though. Im thinking it might be like the NC regional the one year it was a super. But it will be a while

I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a Super Regional in a couple of years to be honest. It's first two years being in the BOA circuit has already attracted numerous bands outside of Florida, some being already highly recognized in the nation. On top of that, you have the big theme parks nearby that attract the bands for a little fun after, although the venue for the event is really off putting for it to become a super regional. Not saying it's bad but I don't think it can't handle many bands in two days plus with the travel time just to get to Orlando. Nonetheless, I'm very excited for this regional to grow and hopefully see some more Florida bands rise as well as introduce the state to some more powerhouses outside of Tarpon, PV, and MSD.
