Chuck announced Windermere not Gainesville. Didnt hear any AAA groups called and he summoned the AAA champ director for exhibition. Is that a first to have no AAA in finals? Yeah I realized that pretty quickly. My Flo Feed cut out briefly after they announced Broken Arrow.

Ouch, that doesn't look good for Brownsburg on the GN finals bubble.

Ouch, that doesn't look good for Brownsburg on the GN finals bubble. I don't think they ever were since beginning of the season. EDIT: Just to be clear, this wasn't any kind of snarky response, Brownsburg was never really expected to in the first place. Top 22 would absolutely an attainable goal and one the band should strive for.

Perhaps I should be more direct: So much for Brownsburg jumping into the finals bubble There really seems to be 8-9 solid finalists followed by 8-9 "bubble" groups, any of whom could fill out the other spots. Considering that, there's no reason a Brownsburg couldn't have been part of that group. Now there is.

I’m not sure this is the show Park Vista needs to make finals Too safe visually. Park Vista falls into the 8-9 bands likely in the mix for 3 finalist spots mentioned by Allohak earlier in the thread.

Finals Cutoff
10. Brownsburg H.S., IN 73.30 --------------------------- 11. Gainesville H.S., FL 70.20
I should also mention that Tarpon Springs was 3 points behind Broken Arrow in prelims and Wando was only 5 hundredths of a point away from beating Tarpon Springs.

Scoring looks pretty on to me. I watched BA earlier and missed TS. Watched TS tonight, missed BA. I figured it was going to be close.

Being at the Orlando Regional, I thought all the groups did fantastic and the placements and scoring were all fair. Because this was my first time seeing BA, I thought they were in a different league definitely deserved what they got and personally had a lot of fun watching the show, the whole stadium was digging it. Tarpon also had a fun little show with more musicality type things going on and was great nonetheless but BA was way ahead of them. Wando in my opinion felt a bit lackluster than usual in ge and visual but musically was great, although not as impactful as other bands, were very clean. Park Vista was a surprise for me for being somewhat cleaner than I expected with them finishing their show just this past week and still has a lot more to add so I'm excited to see what they bring to the table at Grand Nats and make me a proud alumnus. I did feel like all Stoneman, PV, Wando, and Timber Creek should've all been closer together within their own tier since I felt like from the field standpoint it was close between the groups. Stoneman was as strong as always and with the director change they're really pushing through. Timber Creek was a major surprise for me with a very strong sound and a very big band, I wouldn't be surprised to see them in Grand Nats in a couple of years if they keep growing and designing their shows better. Windermere, University, and AD Nease all made finals for the first time amd was very well deserved. My old tech is now with Brownsburg and his work with them did show up with them, definitely one of the better of the bottom groups with a great show. With all that being said, this regional was a fantastic experience for me for being at a boa event for the first time as a spectator. Can't wait to see what the future holds for Orlando!

This is regional win number 16 for BA. They have won every regional that they have attended since 2007, making 13 of those regional wins consecutive. They hold the BOA record for most consecutive regional titles.

Anyone have any thoughts on Wando? It is kind of a surreal show. That was their last BOA they have until they split with Lucy Beckham next year, no idea what that will bring. When I watch their show this year is feels like they (Michael gray) channeled their past a little with the drill and music choices. Go back and watch Wando from about 02’ to 06’ I feel like there are a lot of similarities. That English horn, gorgeous, so very Wando

It's very Wando I agree, but I don't have too much else to say about it. The real question is, are they still going to Nats next year?

It's very Wando I agree, but I don't have too much else to say about it. The real question is, are they still going to Nats next year? I would say they probably will, with maybe their smallest band in a long time. Or maybe they’ll take a break. I bet they go and just squeak into finals, kind of like the days prior to say 2012 for Wando. The odd thing about Lucy Beckham is that at capacity it only holds 1500 students, probably a 2A band at BOA. Wando will likely drop to about 3000 next year, and probably down to 25-2700 in a few years as seniors move in LB. They’re still building a lot in MP but not as much as Hanahan or other places (Johns island). Wando will probably be fine and compete on a high level, not so sure about this new school.

marimba11 Interesting. Allow me to make a risky and interesting prediction. Given that they're splitting from Wando, I'm going to assume LB has terrific middle school feeder programs. If they can get a young, ambitious but qualified director, they will have the 3rd best AA program in the United States within five-ten years.
