I'm very curious to see who/ how many will enroll in this regional. As of right now, only Rosemount (MN) is confirmed to be attending. Here's what I currently know about attendance might play out:
- Little to no participation from South Dakota Bands. This regional will conflict with Festival of Bands, South Dakota's biggest marching band competition held in Sioux Falls. The Sioux Falls Schools (Lincoln, Roosevelt, Washington, and Bishop O'Gorman) will not be able to attend and the front runners at Festival of Bands, Marshall (MN) & Brandon Valley (SD), will likely have to choose between the two competitions, though I've heard that both may be attending St. Louis so it might keep them at Sioux Falls.
- A possible conflict with Golden Regiment Invitational.
- More Minnesota Bands are likely to attend. The Big Minnesota competitions held on that weekend are in Anoka & Champlin Park. Barring any homecoming conflicts, Eden Prairie, Irondale, and Eastview will likely attend.

If Blue Springs holds the GR Invitational this day, Rosemount or O’Fallon will most likely take the title.

I'm not convinced that this is the accurate date for Cedar Falls. Nothing has been announced or confirmed by MFA nor by UNI. Rosemount's band calendar is the only place this date is found and they would have no way of knowing the date or location of this regional either.

It will be interesting how many Illinois bands attend. Most Illinois band schedules will not be posted until spring/early summer, but a few will start posting schedules in January/February.

I’m sure we will see Marian, Lockport, and O’Fallon from IL. Maybe even Morton if we’re lucky. It will be interesting to see if O’Fallon decides to go here or to Clarksville, where they typically go. They aren’t on the same day so they could do both, god knows they have the money. Did anyone ever buy those tarps? It would also be nice to see an Indiana band or more participation from Wisconsin. I can only dream for bands that far to got to Iowa. In my opinion, it is a good region for BOA to discover. I could even see it reaching Super Regional status eventually.

BOA sheets would not be very friendly towards most Wisconsin bands, unfortunately. That being said, there are a few groups who I'd love to see attend. Other than Greendale, I'd love to see Baldwin-Woodville return, as well as River Falls (they attended St. Louis some years ago just for kicks), Oak Creek, Waukesha North, Waukesha West, Milton and Portage. Waukesha North used to frequent Grand Nats in the early-mid 2010's but stopped going. Oak Creek's style is a little dated, but they are probably the best-sounding band in the state. I think seeing more bands participate in BOA would encourage others to check it out.

The competitions in Indianapolis/Indiana are enough for the bands here plus the competitions in Ohio for any band wanting to scratch their early-BOA itch. Southern Indiana has Clarksville already, so that's pretty unlikely. The closest would be the Chicago-area Indiana bands (Munster, Lake Central) but I wouldn't expect it. Munster is not particularly rich and Lake Central is in no shape to actually consider a trip like that now. Really, Iowa is just so far west that I wouldn't expect any Indiana bands out there at all.

Munster is actually doing a lot better financially. They've cut out about $8 million in debt and are now consistently operating $2.5-3.0 in the black. You wouldn't believe how fast housing sells in the Tri-Town (Dyer, Saint John, Schererville) + Munster and Highland areas. The house I bought had 5 offers in the first 24 hours.

I can confirm that this event won't conflict with the Golden Regiment Invitational, as that will be held on September 26th. So it is possible that we could see Blue Springs, as well as Blue Springs South, Bellevue West, and Grain Valley attend this regional.

I haven’t seen Grain Valley live since 2017, so I would be very excited if they were to attend! A lot has changed from then to now.

It is unlikely Greendale will be here, as their home show is usually the first weekend of October.

What are the odds that we see Lincoln-Way H.S., IL attend this event?

What are the odds that we see Lincoln-Way H.S., IL attend this event? Lincoln-Way typically performs at one Regional during the season (not including Indy Super Regional/Grand Nationals). But they do not post their schedule this early. Whether they schedule an Indiana Regional or Iowa Regional - it is too early to know unless someone has some inside information.

Do we know if Blue Springs is coming? If Blue Springs and Lincoln-Way both show up it'll really boost the stakes for this regional.

Any word on O'Fallon Township? Are they going again this year?
O'Fallon is another school that publishes their schedule late.

This is a competition I'll probably be able to go to this year, and no matter who shows up it'll be fantastic- but I have yet to see Lincoln-Way live, and them making an appearance would be a real treat.

1. Blue Springs 2. Rosemount 3. O’Fallon Township
