Anyone else a little creeped out by the Covid19 public service message that keeps popping up here in the forum regarding domestic violence during quarantine? At the end of the short video clip of a despondent woman sitting on the stairs it says, You are not alone. And it shows what looks to be a shadow of a man standing there. Haven't come across that one. I do keep seeing adds for facemasks, though

The CDC says face masks are "recommended when you cannot assure six feet of separation."
You don't need both.

Since the ads were brought into discussion, I have made an effort to observe what they are trying to sell me. So far, I have seen landscaping supplies from Lowe's, wine (multiple times), and a barbecue spatula with bottle opener from Amazon (currently at the top of the page where I'm typing this). Makes sense so far.

Ha my current one is a face mask. Still gotta wonder about the domestic violence one. Maybe itโs simply because Iโm a woman and the powers that be assume all females are subject to abuse. Well just cuz Iโm a girl donโt mean I canโt kick some butt! ๐ช๐ป ๐

I saw a lady pulling out of her own garage in her van, fully masked and alone. Maybe sheโs just trying not to touch her face, who knows. Iโm trying to be very mindful of folks who feel safer with a mask on, so I wear mine in stores, but Iโm not going to wear it in my car or when outside exercising. Right now Iโm planning a visit to see my elderly parents in two weeks so Iโm keeping away from crowds and being extra cautious til then, for their sake.

[/soapbox] The CDC has been wrong about nearly everything so far. You should be OK without a mask OUTDOORS. Inside it can help, but it's worthless outdoors versus this disease.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet from the newsletter from Monday: Well thatโs definitely interesting. Iโm not surprised to hear that they are still waiting it out. No one wants to see the season completely cancelled, least of all the MFA folks. Gotta get them coins! If they do make it to where no bands can travel over state lines, will we see a GN of only Indiana bands? ๐

Will they only be allowed to bring their Indiana resident members? It is Union County College Corner (I am not even sure they have a band) and the state line runs down the center court of their gym.

One would assume the scenario they're talking about isn't something like no bands from Texas or wherever, but rather just random bands whose districts won't allow them to travel. Texas seems to me to be the most open and quickest to resume normal activities. I'm sure if anyone is going to be able to attend, it's Texas. At least you all have gotten your practice guidelines. I'm not sure IN, IL, OH, and MI know anything more than all school activities are still shut down through mid-summer with no re-opening plans announced.

Ha, how on earth do they handle taxes, among other things?! Indiana is the state of record and they use Indiana school law and funding. Indiana bills Ohio student tuition based upon enrollment form Ohio residents. There are only about 100 Ohio kids that go to a school of ~1300.
