I said think Big. I never called you big Momma, although BigGunTotinMomma has a nice ring to it. Don't mess with Texas right.
Wow this topic certainly took an unexpected turn.

Some predictions from an Okie:
Broken Arrow wins another GN title
Vista Ridge wins a GN title
Reagan wins a GN title
Blue Springs wins St. Louis and places 2nd at GN
Three Oklahoma bands in GN finals in one year
Bixby makes GN finals
BA goes to SA
At least two more Oklahoma bands make finals at a regional (Edmond North and Southmoore definitely have the means to do so now, they just haven't tried)
Jenks and Bixby pass BA in the 2029 season
This decade will be the rise of Oklahoma (and Arkansas)... I can feel it!

Greg Bimm will still be at the helm of Marian Catholic in 2030. He. Is. A. Legend.

Iβm think the split of grand nats will be great. Bands like tarpon and Marian would clean up!! Who in Ohio in the lower classes. Iβd love to see more west bands in grand nats but I wonder if this crisis will effect bands for years to come. We were actually pretty close to seeing a medalist in each class from OH this past season. Best chances currently look like Norton in A Miamisburg in AA Milford in AAA William Mason in AAAA Thatβs awesome! Loved Miamisburg this year.

I'm gonna post multiple posts in here as they come to mind, but heres a few for now. -I'll echo another part of Buff's post about a NJ band winning a regional. I think that will be a definite weather it's JP Stevens, Westfield, or someone else. -I believe that the landscape of the activity will change coming out of this crisis. The drum corps landscape is sure to look ALOT different after this, weather it's about DCI itself or the corps. I think that the marching band end will also change. I think there will be a change in what many circuits look like by the end of this decade. I don't see much changing in WGI and the indoor activity, just because there isn't a ton to change there. These are things I think are just going to happen eventually, along with other things I have heard. -New BOA Regionals in many places. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say The PNW is an area that could see one. -Areas we are seeing more activity in now will be booming by the end of the decade. Arkansas and Oklahoma are ones that comes to mind. -A band from VA makes GN Finals. Virginia is gaining alot of momentum. James Madison is at the top of that list, but I think we could see others get in that category as well. -Forest Hills makes Finals. They shocked all of us at GN last year, and I think will continue to do so. -We see the end of at least 1, maybe up to 3 reigns of success this decade. It's way to early to predict who, for heaven's sake you might not be able to predict this the month before it happens, but I think it is likely in the next short period of time as there is lots of change. (When I say reigns of success, think of the Carmel, Avon of the world even though they probably won't be the ones). I know this is very hard to happen due to funding and how these schools are structured but if this happens in any time, it would be now. -Last one for now. Lincoln-Way wins Grand Nationals. Iβm thinking we will see more western representation in BOA, hopefully at the grand nats level. Some good bands in Colorado, Utah, and Arizona.

- 6 bands will continue to be the "big dogs" in Illinois: Marian, Lincoln-Way, Prospect, Lockport Township, Morton, O'Fallon Township.
- Morton will win another class title at a BOA regional.
- Lake Park will come back to some semblance of their earlier selves, making finals at a regional and maybe even making GN Semifinals.
- Belleville East will become a force to be reckoned with in southwestern Illinois.
- Illinois will FINALLY get a state championship (it's listed as an "emerging activity/sport" on IHSA's website), but IHSA will run it and screw it up so badly that no bands will have any interest in participating again.
- Based on the success of Lincoln-Way and the Normals combining, several more school districts try to combine their bands.

It would be interesting for some more "state by state" decade predictions like this one.

It would be interesting for some more "state by state" decade predictions like this one. I would give some Mid Atlantic/Northeast predications, but Iβm not sure many here would have any clue of the programs Iβm speaking of π Rancocas Valley, NJ out of nowhere for a win

Lots of hope for marching band in IL! I want a BOA Chicago (I can dream LOL). Lincoln-Way to makes a dip in GN Finals. More IL bands to attend BOA function, ones that don't typically go. More school to come to the competitive scene (Stevenson, Libertyville, Hinsdale Central, Hoffman Estates, LZ) I believe Plainfield District tried to combine, but one school said no.

- An Indiana band that isnβt carmel or Avon wins GN In before OldSchoolTrumpet - "It won't be Homestead!" Ha. I felt that it was implied that it was Fishers. I thought about adding a prediction that Homestead would not make GN Finals in the 2020's, but that seemed not in the spirit on the thread.

But then who? Brownsburg? Lawrence Twp? Carroll? Fishers? Edit: I left Fishers off of this list but then I saw OldSchoolTrumpet's post.

Someone wins GN without the use of any props, tarps, or gimmicks. At this point, deciding to not use props or tarps could be viewed as a gimmick.

After Ronald Reagan's historical season I'm going to bet that even without financial difficulties a lot of bands will try the no prop trend.

- Vandegrift wins another national title. - Reagan wins a national title - Tarpon Springs maximizes their formula and wins 2 titles - A Mid-Atlantic Band makes GN finals (either Kiski, Norwin, or Madison) - Increased competition in the Mid-Atlantic region causes Norwin to lose its record for most regional wins. Madison and Kiski both pick up at least 3 regional titles this decade.
- Hebron wins San Antonio - The Woodlands wins San Antonio - William Mason becomes consistently top 3, wins a title (or possibly more) - Leander wins San Antonio - Marian Catholic breaks into finals again - Avon wins another title - Claudia Taylor Johnson wins GN
- Flower Mound wins GN - Blue Springs and Broken Arrow go 50/50 for St. Louis titles - We see an east coast super regional (perhaps in Winston-Salem again??) - A California band places top 6 at GN - Lafayette, KY makes finals at GN - Kennesaw Mountain returns to finals at GN
