I agree, well done Bixby!! They always have such unique shows and this year doesn’t disappoint. Also, their woodwinds can put out some sound! Always a treat watching why Bixby brings to the field each year.

It is… so embarrassing for the facility lol The thing that immediately struck my eye, just got me thinking how much upkeep is being done on the stadium now since it’s unoccupied 😦 The XFL was purchased by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. He plans to bring the league back, as well as the Battlehawks. The Dome is old and stale, but wasting money on a currently unused field is a terrible investment.

Fun show from Camdenton. Not sure where that falls in rankings.

Excellent performance, Camdenton! I love love love seeing how far this group has grown over the last few years. I think they have a solid chance of playing the back half of Finals tonight. Yes, some of their music ensemble moments were a little rough around the edges, but what a show!! Either way, I think they’ll end up in the middle of Finals; high single digits or low double digits. I love what they’re offering this year and where the program seems to be headed. Come back to GN soon please!!!!

Watching high cam so i couldn't really see. Do the band members come out with clown masks on at the end of the show?

Still waiting for the day they make a dome around KC >.< although logistically I don’t know if it would be a good BOA event. If they made Arrowhead a dome that parking lot would be great for a BOA event.

I'm glad that Rosemount is becoming the head and shoulders best of their state, and perhaps the entire upper Midwest, but I cannot see this in GN finals yet, or particularly close this year. And with Blue Springs in AAA, I'm having a hard time seeing them go home with class hardware either. But a first trip to GN should help take the program in a great direction to make those things happen within the decade.

Rosemount is looking beautiful, but I think musically it was a bit of a mess...

I thought the opener was kinda rough but the closer really improved. We’ll see what the judges think!

Rosemount is looking beautiful, but I think musically it was a bit of a mess... They definitely didn't sound as crisp as in recent years to my ear, at least. The design felt "safer" compared to recent years too, but I still think they'll be performing again tonight. Just a matter of when.

It seems at this point that Blue Springs, DB, & Castle have the three AAA placements pretty well guarded. But I enjoyed Rosemount today! Similar to American Fork a few years back, and the mistake many of the Texas bands make on their first trips, they seem to be bringing a safer, tamer design to GN, and that’s ok. I get not wanting to go all out on your first trip. I do think they have the goods to place in the high teens/low 20s at GN. It’s a nice, well-written show and they look good! Plenty of time to tighten up the rough musical edges.

How many Wes programs do we have at this regional? I know of BA, Camdenton, Rosemount, Mustang, and Prosper. Is there anyone I’m forgetting?

Cartwright designed the shark show? I thought that show was the antithesis to a Cartwright production…in the absolute best way possible I really loved it so much and I can’t wait to see it in finals…but it definitely did not scream Cartwright to me!

St. Louis may end up getting a new team out of their lawsuit against the NFL as part of a settlement where the NFL doesn't have to divulge confidential information, which would result in a new stadium sometime down the road After that, we'll get into Pontiac levels of maintenance when BOA went back, circa 2012:

I don’t see any scenario where Grain Valley doesn’t take that caption from them. The soprano sax soloist also seemed to stutter a bit, but nothing too huge. Camdenton has always been on the weaker end musically, especially compared to their consistent niche as a GE factory, but it’s been improving so much since 2019. Dominic Zanaboni is a godsend for their brass.

Not to the mention Ventos doing Blue Springs and Blue Springs South (and maybe still Grain Valley?) and Steve Vento writing for Coppell (and maybe Bixby?).

Why did we stop talking about how magnificent Bixby did? This is by far one of the most innovative show designs I have seen in years. Their sound is incredibly well-blended and musical. I am obsessed with the visual design and general effect (the flashlights were SO COOL!!!)
I would definitely not be surprised to see them foray into the upper-half of finals placements. Excellent, excellent work Bixby!
