One thing I try to keep in mind when watching the Minnesota bands is that their marching band season is 1/4 of the time that southern bands have due to weather. They have to do all they can to be impressive on only a few months of practice time.

Honestly, Memphis is a pretty cool place. That would be a fun destination location for grand nats if there was a venue available and it was actually lucrative (bands actually came). Keep in mind that most of those Atlanta bands are on there because Atlanta had a super-regional for a while. I would argue that the center should be pushed a bit more northwest. St. Louis is honestly a better central location for almost everywhere but the deep southeast. NW Arkansas would be cool also

First Out: Bixby H.S., OK
I called 13 of 14 Finalists, and the 14th was my first out. I'll take it.
I'm glad that Rosemount is becoming the head and shoulders best of their state, and perhaps the entire upper Midwest, but I cannot see this in GN finals yet, or particularly close this year. And with Blue Springs in AAA, I'm having a hard time seeing them go home with class hardware either. But a first trip to GN should help take the program in a great direction to make those things happen within the decade.
Definitely of the state, though I’d argue the trajectory of the program at Lincoln in the region also is sound and definitely ranks up there.
