THREE OHIO REGIONALS?! Yes! Wish we could get a late-season event one of these years. Also... it is GOOOOOOOOOD to be back. So hopeful for this!!! Late season shows for Ohio bands are Indy Super and Grand Nationals. For most of the Ohio bands that participate regularly in BOA, Indianapolis is as close as Columbus and closer than Toledo.

Notably no listed event in California. Not that regionals out there have been particularly well-attended, mind.

Well we should be salivating over grand national finals right now but I guess weβll settle for brighter days in the future.
Question though, a little overkill to have Lynchburg, Jacksonville, AND Orlando on the same weekend?? I know theyβre not close by distance but they will attract similar names from the SE

Orlando is an incredibly attractive destination, but very prone to weather cancellations (because Florida). By having competitions closer to their locations, it might help alleviate that status a bit more. A closed stadium would be nice, but alas...

I wish BOA would come up with another southeastern super regional l. Even though Atlanta was the less popular super regional, it was still great to watch and stream in my opinion(however it did get repetitive when tarpon kept winning). Are there any indoor football stadiums in the southeastern part of the United States(with the exception of Mercedes)

It would be cool if they had organized a Northeastern Regional @ Carrier Dome-Syracuse, NY in which I would predict Norwin, Kiski Area or Dartmouth or even South Brunswick to win. I can't wait to see a NJ band FINALLY win a BOA regional event, or a West Coast Super Regional it could encourage more Hawaiian and/or Alaskan bands to come on down

Correct me if Iβm wrong, but will 12 bands(in a regional competition) make it to finals like they wouldβve in 2020?

The weather issue is definitely a problem but the stadium is a good venue for FL so I think good on them. As for California, flagstaff with the dome is good. I donβt know why California bands donβt grapple in BOA more but something is off in that relationship. I think WBA is very big and many of the smaller names are fine with that. Itβs only a few groups that really venture outside the state anyway: Ayala, Vista, Homestead (occasionally), & San Marcos. Buchanan and Covina are less known bands that also tend to travel out. We havenβt seen Upland in a while or Amador valley. I donβt think weβve ever seen chino hills ... the 2019 WBA champion. Not to mention James Logan but thatβs a different topic...

It would be cool if they had organized a Northeastern Regional @ Carrier Dome-Syracuse, NY in which I would predict Norwin, Kiski Area or Dartmouth or even South Brunswick to win. I can't wait to see a NJ band FINALLY win a BOA regional event, or a West Coast Super Regional it could encourage more Hawaiian and/or Alaskan bands to come on down Sigh... yet another year where we don't get a more central Northeast regional. Even the timing of the mid-Atlantic regional won't encourage any to attend, as many in the Northeast don't even start competing until the end of September. I'm fairly confident you will never see Dartmouth, or many of the Northeast/New England bands, attend any regional that isn't at least within a four hour drive. Wakefield was an anomaly, and hope they continue dipping their toes in the scene. Syracuse is still pretty far to entice any new bands to attend. It's a shame since BOA finally got Dartmouth to attend some events this year. Virtual showcases, but still shocked to see them participate given they were adamant they wouldn't participate in BOA in the past.

Why should there be a north eastern regional? BOA has made attempts but the demand does not seem to be there. I think trying a NY regional would be interesting but itβs a limited pool with frankly limited quality

I know Dartmouth probably are not going to join, but a boy can dream and it would be a DAM shame if Dartmouth doesn't enter any BOA event the next pervious years because USBands and NESBA are too easy for them. They would be a great competitor for Norwin and James Madison (VA). I originally saw that Wakefield H.S. (MA) was going to the 2020 BOA event in Orlando, FL until you know. Cancelled. Wakefield pulled a very ambitious move to jump from competing in your first BOA event with many Mid-Atlantic bands to competing with southern bands, but I love it and I hope for them to making finals one of these years. I could see probably John P. Stevens, Westfield or maybe Elizabeth or Brick Memorial to become the first NJ band to win a regional and if South Brunswick joins I see an higher chance of winning because they are always winning their 6-Open category in USBands and getting the highest overall score.

I would LOVE to see Wakefield regularly compete in BOA and find some success. They've been a band on the rise in MA for a few years now. It's been great seeing that improvement over the years. I didn't know they signed up for Orlando, but I love the move!

The Columbus Regional at Fortress Obetz and Dayton Regional at Welcome Stadium have swapped dates. The Dayton Regional will now take place on opening weekend, Sept. 18, followed by the Columbus Regional on Sept. 25.
The Dayton Flyers football team typically announces their schedule in February, which has occasionally caused changes to MFA's schedule in past years. The Flyers have not yet announced their full schedule, but have confirmed an away game on Sept. 18, leaving Welcome Stadium available for the BOA championship event on that date.

In past years, the deadline to register for events and be included in the main random preliminary performance draw has been January 31. This year, that deadline is February 28.
Expect the timing to see lists of registered bands to be delayed this year.
