Results seem pretty accurate in my opinion. I thought Marcus was good enough to get a caption and they did well to tie with Flower Mound in visual with how good they are. Personally I would've had Coppell over Keller, but with the scores those two bands had they were essentially a tossup for the judges. Scores in general seem a bit deflated compared to the Houston regionals and TMC, but it's probably just the differences in judges. Flower Mound is going to be a medal contender come November.

Yeah I am also usually wrong guessing too LOL.. hey ho it is what it is.
Not at all surprised Marcus is strong in visual, their marching and body carriage is amazing.
Nobody was touching that music perf from Hebron tonight, just incredible.
Other than maybe Vandy, (or flo mo) they are the best in the nation in music.

My thoughts on the top 3:
While Marcus marched and played beautifully the show design leaves me a bit disinterested. In particular, the music design just doesn't stand apart from many of the other top ~8 or so bands (the solos were heavenly however). I also feel as if the musical performance was a bit more reserved than it could have been (of course, this is all relative to the power houses in the top 2 spots), although this is just my preference. While I think 3rd is well-deserved I'm also unsure if I would pick Marcus to tie Flower Mound in visual, given that the difficulty of Marcus' visual package seems a bit lower than Flower Mound's and Hebron's.
After seeing Flower Mound, I was convinced I had witnessed the best brass of the year. I was clearly wrong, because Hebron was on another level from any other band I've heard so far this season. Hebron was the clear pick for music performance. Visually I have to disagree with the judges a bit, as usual. I really think, considering the degree of difficulty and simultaneous demand, that Hebron deserved visual performance over Marcus, and on par with Flower Mound.
This year Hebron seems to have the same weakness they have every year: lack of general effect. I feel like Hebron's design philosophy is that spectacular marching and playing alone are enough to generate all of their general effect, and this has handicapped their scores over the years as the design of the show is often less clear or interesting than their competitors'. Hebron has the resources performance-wise to match or even beat bands like Flower Mound, and I wish their designers would deliver a show that uses those resources to their full potential.
Now Flower Mound. This show is a GE monster, and Flower Mound is one of the only bands in the nation with the competence and conviction to pull it off. While I had predicted Hebron taking the victory before the competition, I had no doubt after seeing Flower Mound's performance today that they were the only choice for first. The general quirkiness of the production reminds me of Carolina Crown's best years, and the performance tonight reminds me of FloMo's undefeated 2016 season. I think Flower Mound chose the perfect year to head to Indianapolis.

With Hebron pumping out the best music book in the country year after year it’s amazing to me that flower mound continues to stay on top at this regional. Goes to show the power of great GE and show design

Although Gino had Hebron ahead in GE and I disagree with that - I am glad someone offers the other opinion just for the sake of it. Hebron deserves all accolades. They were only .1 away from visual the Flower Mound bands too🤷♂️
We also have to remember Hebron probably wants to win state, so designing a show like they have is probably their better chance. Just a thought.

Congratulations to Flower Mound HS on their 8th BOA Regional Title. Flower Mound is also on my short list of greatest bands who have yet to win a Grand National title.

Hebron’s show feels very UIL as opposed to BOA and reminds me of their 2018 show. For sure a top contender for state this year. Did anyone catch the title of the show?
