True on the indoor facility but that doesn't change the event having only spawned after Billy Joel ruined Winston a few years back.
As far as proximity, maybe true of BOA butmyou can't overlook the WCU show which is really at that level as well. Boone has one too. So its pretty dense.
WCU is definitely a top notch show. Easily the best non-BOA show in the southeast. The show at ASU in Boone is ok. Pretty good stadium to perform in but it doesn't draw anywhere near the same level of lineup as WCU and, without trying to be too critical, its not a very well run show in my experience at least.
Boone has carved out a niche as a popular state show. Fort Mill came up a few times and cleaned everybody's clock but in general it's more Cary Band Day west. WCU strives to be regional and succeeds. Although the weather can be windy or wild it is a gorgeous setting.
Time for all the calendar stalkers out there to figure out where those bands on the Lynchburg lists will be going instead.
