I didn't get a chance to see the show but around the same time in 2019 DB scored an 87 so I feel like maybe DB's score was a bit inflated here. Generally speaking, I don't think they are that close to Tarpon...granted. maybe something weird happened tonight but I put Tarpon in a different class. Just my opinion though. DB is an awesome ensemble none the less.

I'm more impressed that DB was able to cut a 2 point gap behind Tarpon Springs in prelims, to a 0.55 point deficit in finals.

Wow, very impressive by DB to get that close to Tarpon and steal a caption. Could mean good things for them at Grand Nationals

I should also mention that DB beat Tarpon Springs in Music in Prelims as well.

Congratulations to Tarpon Springs on regional win number 24! They still have the third highest number of BOA regional titles, still right on the heels of Carmel (Carmel has 25 now and Norwin has 29). This also marks the second BOA regional of the season for Tarpon. The last time Tarpon won two BOA regionals in the same season was 2006. And congrats to DB for a strong second place finish. I figured DB had a show that could really gain points as they cleaned during the end of the season. And yes, DB made the statement they needed to make as they prep for Grand Nationals.

Wow, very impressive by DB to get that close to Tarpon and steal a caption. Could mean good things for them at Grand Nationals Or it could be a scoring fluke like two years ago when Cleveland did the same to DB in Lynchburg. But I don't see why anybody would think of DB as not in the finals chase. I mean, they been at that level for a while now.

DB is an awesome program but I do not really believe they are that close to Tarpon Springs.

Call me crazy, but I'm not overly crazy about Tarpon Springs this year. I usually love TP's shows year in and year out.
Unpopular opinion, but I feel like if Tarpon Springs were to attend Grand Nationals this year they would have a hard time making it to the top 7.

I agree, but the reason isn’t because there isn’t a spark with Tarpon this year, but look at the groups in the top 7! I wish they were going this year! I would guess they would place in the 5-10 range.

That may be the case, but DB did perform before Tarpon, so the judges must’ve thought they were close enough to score them the way that they did. Definitely didn’t seem like a fluke.

Th acoustics of the venue were much more conducive to a positive presentation of DB's music than Tarpon's.
Something to consider about the visual is that because of the tight quarters at the front, Tarpon Springs set everything 15 feet back from where it would be on a field with more than 16 feet between the front sideline and a wall. All drill was executed without the usual field marking reference points.

On a related note the 20 point spread from too to bottom of finals is unusually large.

Though since Jacksonville, the singers' pitch accuracy is greatly improved.

I initially had my reservations about DB's show, but it has grown on me tremendously since Jacksonville. I'm starting to appreciate the simple, yet nuanced design a lot more. Also, that choir is going to sound HEAVENLY in Lucas Oil, especially considering how sounds reverb so beautifully in the dome. They are definitely solidly back in the conversation for finals (they never really left, but I feel much more confident in them now). So excited to see them at Nats!
Tarpon has all the technical aspects down, they always do. Once again, I am in utter awe of their guard, and they are due for another WGI championship. However, the show didn't really resonate with me that much tbh. The kids looked like they were having fun performing it though, so that's all that matters!!
KM is back! I love their production this year and had a blast watching them. Super neat design. They're continuing their rise back up, and I'm very happy for them!
Also, another shout out to Siegel! I genuinely did not expect them to land anywhere in the single digits, let alone in the top half. David Aydelott is back in the classroom and is working his magic once again!!
