I haven't seen the schedule for Brownsburg yet, but based on the posts above, I assume Class B will have Northview, Greenwood and Greenfield. Maybe Beech Grove in Class B as well.
Class A will likely include Carmel and Ben Davis, and obviously Brownsburg in exhibition.

So a quick primer for 9/11/2021: Lawrence Central -Homestead and Avon are the marquee bands of the evening. Homestead will be sporting a new look and style. -Long-time Lawrence Central/Township director Matt James has recently retired from the position. -Whiteland and Franklin Central are rapidly improving bands in Class A. Remains to be seen whether Covid has impacted them, but they both were on upwards trajectories in 2019.
Evansville Central -Ev. North will be under the direction of former assistant director Noah Farmer after previous director Jay Emmert has left North for a position in Florida. -Jasper has picked up former Greenwood director Ben Werne in an assistant band director position. -Castle is also performing.
Westfield -Pike and Zionsville will be performing. -Westfield has picked up the design staff of the Western band, and will be one of their main foci for the 2021 season.
Brownsburg -Greenwood has picked up Luke Aylsworth from Springs Valley for their head band director position. -Greenfield-Central and Northview will be performing. -Carmel and Brownsburg will be performing.
Goshen -Northridge and Concord will be performing -Elkhart has picked up former Munster director Bret Winternheimer for their head band director position. -Carroll, Penn, and Goshen will also be performing.
This unfortunately will not be a regular thing, but there's a lot of interesting threads and turnover from 2019 to today. Will be interesting to see how things match up next weekend.

Stay tuned! Lawrence Township is so small this season π Same style as the last few seasons. Itβs just hard to believe 2 schools are feeding into this program and they are still so small. Homestead had their full show on the field tonight. Ending was pretty messy but the other 4 parts are cleaning up! Guard is still using their practice flags. You could definitely feel their energy and the GE for this show is amazing. Avon had up to/through their balled on the field. No tops to their uniforms yet but they did have some props on the field. They sounded great! While Iβm not a huge fan of this show (I always end up loving them by the end of the season) there is no doubt that this is going to be another amazing year for the Marching Black and Gold! Good for Homestead with GE That's terrific. From what I gather, Avon wasn't in uniform and had less of their show out, but still for Homestead to take a full caption from Avon will be a good bit of motivation for these Homestead kids. A nice small taste of success for the two new classes in their first competition. Hopefully Marching Observer will add his thoughts later. Bummed about no scores though.

Alright. Time for a short review of my live impressions.
Scottsburg - They are off to a great start this season. They only had about 2 minutes on the field with just the first part but they sounded and looked solid. They didn't look smaller due to any Covid issues. I'd say they lost GE simply because of how short their show was. Not taking away from Benton Central who did have a more complete and fleshed out show at this time.
Pendleton Heights - Another group that is off to a great start and certainly a finalist contender for state. Missing the closer but then a lot of groups were. They'll need to keep improving and make sure they don't peak.
Mt. Vernon (Fortville) - IMO, they are right behind Pendleton Heights. I could have seen them taking a caption or two so I imagine the score was pretty close.
Beech Grove - There is absolutely no reason for them to be in Scholastic class in my opinion. They are a little smaller than normal but the theme is fleshed out and has a lot of GE going on. They have more difficult music which is why they lost it as it's something that is going to take time to clean. I expect to see them in exhibition as Scholastic A champions at State Finals.
Avon - Oh boy! They did not miss a beat from missing a year due to Covid. They sound incredible and the guard is impeccable as always. They've got about 5 minutes on the field so far so still needing the closer. They didn't march in full uniforms (only overalls) so I'm interested in seeing what the tops will end up being. It's going to continue to be in the hunt for the Eagle for sure.
Homestead - I think by now it should be pretty well know how I've loved this show from the very beginning so excuse my continued gushing over it. The band didn't get new uniforms but instead have added to them for theming. They are wearing burgundy (I think that's the right color) capes and spartan style helmets. I think they look good but that is certainly up for personal opinion. It does help sell the show though I think. They also put on the closer which I was not expecting and while it was clearly the roughest bit, it contains the same amount of energy as the rest of the show. I was validated in my opinion that this show would be a fan favorite when the crowd basically cheered for the last 30 seconds like it was a DCI show. They have a lot to clean and plenty of areas that they can add stuff. If you have the chance to watch them, you won't be disappointed.
Noblesville - This band keeps improving year after year and after the performance they put on, they are definitely on the bubble for a state finals appearance now. They have the show. They'll just need to perform it at semi's.
Franklin Central - They only had about 3 and a half minutes on the field but are off to a great start too. Another band that is going to push for a state finalist spot. They are in a great spot as long as they add a little more to make the upcoming Dayton BOA Finals.
Lawrence Township - They have certainly found their new tone and it works for them! Think 2019 but now in New Orleans. It's a show you can just enjoy with lots of solo and small ensemble moments.
So there are some of my thoughts from the Lawrence Central show. Hope you enjoyed them. I've got to say, I'm quite surprised at how hard some groups are coming out this year when they didn't really have to. And I'm here for it! Welcome back band!
