Why can't they be normal and divide the subtotal by 10 like every body else does? Not surprised that Lincoln-Way shredded everyone in music. Looking forward to what they can do in BOA this year.

Just watched videos of Lockport, Limestone Community, Fremd and Lake Park.
Lockport - Plays pretty well. New uniforms, no drumline. Considerably smaller. Ended after the ballad.
Fremd - Really like this show.
Lake Park- They play pretty decently. Minimal guard work, as in poles are carried around for most of the show. Probably on the bubble for ISU finals.
Limestone - Another pretty solid show out of them. I think they'll be in prime position to take the newly created 1A-2A extra ISU finals spot.

Anyone know if this is a case of Davenport Central getting better or Prospect getting worse? Very surprised by these scores. Having watched Davenport Central (below), they weren't bad at all! I think the real issue with this show was lack of judges. According to the information packet, Music Performance Ensemble (Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Director of Bands at VanderCook College of Music) judged Music Performance Ensemble and Music GE; her music GE score was then doubled. Marie Czapinski judged Visual Performance Ensemble and Visual GE. Fun fact: Outside of 2017 (Lockport Township) and 2009 (Lincoln-Way East), Prospect had won this show every year since 2004, the first year that Lake Park did not compete here.

Lake Central beats Lockport in music, behind in visual by .85, GE by 3.7. Well that's quite surprising. Still hoping to see them pushing for GN finals in the coming years. Their 2018 and 2019 shows were fantastic. Also sort of hoping they go back to no drumline. They're one of the few bands I've really enjoyed watching without a drumline. Their 2018 front ensemble writing was some of the best I've heard.

Lockport Township did quite well at the VJA competition, considering their reduced size.

I'll be tabulating at the EIU competition tomorrow, so I'll try to get recaps out as soon as possible. It'll be my first live look at any band that isn't Collinsville, so I'm definitely looking forward to what everyone has to offer.

Assuming Lincoln-Way, Lockport, Prospect are pretty much shoo-ins for finals, I'm counting probably 10-11 bands fighting for 4 finals spots.

This is intriguing to me, considering Collinsville were quite a ways ahead [7ish points] of Monticello at the O'Fallon competition [on basically BOA sheets] two weeks prior. There is a video of Monticello, and they sound quite good, but I don't have anything from Collinsville for comparison's sake. Hopefully Monticello come down to BOA St. Louis, so we have another comparison.
