The only thing that makes me go Hmm is Cedar Park and Rouse. Cedar park jumps from 30 to 16. Ok, I can pretty much agree with that after I saw them at BOA Austin. However, Rouse beat both Cedar Park and Vista Ridge in the finals and had a 3rd place finish at BOA Austin. I would have placed them above Cedar Park. How much weight does the previous weeks rankings hold? There's always a little bit of poll inertia with any poll. Just speculating here, but for some voters, Cedar Park's consistency and history of success as a program probably put them above Rouse, whose success is relatively recent. Correct (for me, at least). Due to the limited amount of data in September, some prior year data is included. With each passing week, more and more 2019 data drops off and more and more 2021 is included. For me personally, I also try to avoid the "One Good Show" (or One Bad Show) pitfall. Rouse was great at Austin! Now do it again. My algorithm definitely rewards repetitive success.

Cedar Park also beat Rouse in prelims albeit by .50. I think Cedar Park and Rouse are essentially neck and neck here so having them side by side on the rankings makes sense to me. I think what gives Cedar Park the edge is exactly what you’re saying. We’ve seen Cedar Park move forwards strongly with this sort of early success but this is uncharted territory for Rouse. I'm not sure it's really uncharted territory for Rouse. They have previously been a class winner at BOA Austin and BOA San Antonio, They beat Cedar Park in 2019 at TMC, and spent 3-4 weeks in the top 32 in 2019. Plus a 4th place finish in 2019 at the Texas SMBC (out of 260ish schools in their class).

What they're new to is beating programs that are in generally in contention for top half of BOA San Antonio finals. No one is denying that they've had a lot of success in the past, but this particular level they reached at Austin is way above anything they've shown us before.

I think the Cedar Park show also has more room to grow. Plus - and this is just as an observer, I am no musician - I think their music is more challenging.

I think this is going to be a breakout year for them. This weekend is going to be interesting for sure.

Disappointed to see Brownsburg fall out of the next 10 while winning the Ben Davis Parade of Champions. Interested in seeing if they get into top 32 after winning the Toledo Regional. This program is amazing and looking forward seeing the part 4 finale.
