My school has fallen off the Next 10 list. Sad😔 This is only a (subjective) list of the top 40 highest scoring marching bands in the country. That’s 40 out of several thousand high school bands around the country and several hundred who attend BOA…think of how incredible it is to just be in the top 100! You are incredible and missing out on a list of a handful of groups does nothing to discount your successes and your ability. Don’t let it get to you too much ☺️ |

And you're not allowed to skip any bands (except college exhibition bands if you so choose). You must be there for the earliest band each morning and not leave until after the final band performs each night. You must time your restroom trips to coincide with breaks in the show. |

Not sure why you rank Dobbyns this low they came in second at both regionals by less than a point . They won music over TS at Johnson City and took everything at west Carolina.

Those who vote in the poll (I am not among them) watch a lot of performances from a lot of bands. They represent a range of musical experience and expertise that gives a good balance to the poll. The reason Dobyns-Bennett is "so low" is because the collective wisdom of the poll voters has determined that's where they belonged at the time. And don't be surprised if D-B drops a few spots this week based on what the poll voters saw and heard in San Antonio (many, if not most, of them were there in person). Scores and placements might also have a small effect on their rankings. |

Saturday is gonna be off the hook As has been noted many times on these forums, you can't just look at the numbers (scores). What matters is placement and gaps. A 92.5 at one show may be superior to a 96.4 at another or that same 92.5 may be inferior to an 88.2 with a different panel. Scores are relative to the other bands at the SAME competition, not the bands at another site.And yes, Saturday will be quite amazing. |
