Stayed at Jourdanton high school on DCI tour in 2015. I remember the drinking water from the school was so hot! This was July mind you. It was a tough two days before the SA Championship lol

Timber Creek would not be a surprise finalist, not after what the way they performed tonight. That's what I'm secretly hoping for. Would love to see two Keller ISD bands at SA finals.

Did someone at BOX5 fall asleep or am I supposed to be watching Coppell right now and not screenshots of ads?

Coppell posted a video to their social medias this morning with the buses leaving for San Antonio. Wonder what happened that they had to move times.

I think Swan lake is kind of out of style? I feel like it can come back for it bit. Seemed really popular like 20 yrs ago

I remember not liking Keller's show so much at an earlier regional, but my opinion has definitely changed. Not sure if it's just the vantage point, but there's something enchanting about their show and some interesting visual things happening. Should be another solid finalist

I must be the odd one out here cause I was expecting a bit more from Keller. Fantastic sounds as they always have had, but I felt some of the earlier bands were a bit better.

That is an extraordinarily large amount of props on the field from CTJ

I heard the first three notes from Keller's low brass resonating from the rafters, and that's all it took for me to say "Finals." Three notes.

Keller band with Michael Gaines drill is an unexpected and excellent combination. I agree!! It’s really working

Keller was nice! Really nice. Lots of brilliant musical moments. Also, that is a TOUGH music book they're trying to pull off!! And largely succeeding. A bit of dirt around the edges, probably a bit too much to call them a Finals lock in this field, but I'd bet on them being in rather than out.

What an.. interesting show. CTJ never fails to do something whacky. I love the emphasis they put on preshows. Can someone explain why they had maybe 5 or so members wearing a fully black version of their uniform? The only thing I could think is “opposites attract” but it wasn’t enough people to convince me it was that idea.
I’d be shocked if this isn’t in the top half at nationals.

Claudia Taylor Johnson’s show is probably one of the best designed shows ever. This is not recency bias.

This CTJ show really isn’t my cup of tea, but they are LOUD. So many starts and stops, it’s amazing the pacing doesn’t suffer that much

There's A LOT of demand in CTJ's show. Vandegrift was undoubtedly cleaner, but I think I'd give GE to CTJ, and I feel like the demand of CTJ's show really needs to be considered. I definitely think the gap is extremely close.

It’s kind of Avon 2010 but trying too hard I really don’t see the comparison to Avon 2010, maybe a comparison to Plymouth-Canton 1999 works better, or maybe even Avon 2008 but not Avon 2010.

Claudia Taylor Johnson's show is my favorite of the season and I think they proved why. This show has undergone a substantial amount of changes since BOA Austin, from more use of the vocalist to entirely different drill at the end of the show. In typical CTJ fashion the demand is absurdly high both musically and visually, and yet they've managed to execute both at such an incredible level. I think they did enough to put them over Vandegrift for me today.

Ugh. I know I'm mostly alone on this, but that show is one hot mess of a design. I get that that's CTJ's aesthetic, and they do it unapologetically, and I appreciate that. It's just not my cup of tea. It's a straight-forward theme that has so many unnecessary and mismatched layers added in that it becomes convoluted. I still maintain that from the banjo break on, all momentum in the show just stops.
The band of course is incredible. The guard is fantastic. Drumline is insanely good. I love hearing and watching them perform. Just not my design aesthetic.
