Omg Vista Ridge........ how could this NOT make finals next week lol.... just so titanic, so IMPRESSIVE... if you were underwhelmed and watched multicam, that's exactly why—the multi-cam tonight missed soooo much of the effect the ensemble generates.
Whatever placement this gets tonight, I would not be surprised to see them place even higher next Saturday night!!

Rock solid performance, VR. I really don't think we could have asked for a cleaner run. I still don't adore the show, but I really appreciate how they've shaped it this season. If that performance was truly bottom 7, we are in for quite the evening.
While I do wish VR's guard program were a little stronger, I have got to say that their individual visual program for the band proper is just insanely good. Their movement from one member to another is so detailed and well done and uniform. It's impressive! Whether 2021 ends up being the season VR wanted or not, this is clearly a band that will be hanging around the top of TX and the US in general for the next decade or too. They are only going to continue to solidify their place in the national canon of great bands, and I am loving watching it happen!!

Also, is this the first time we've had FIVE bands from one district in a super regional Finals?? Jeezus! Leander ISD is so jaw-droopingly impressive!

Does anyone know what "Vorca Rhe" actually means? It’s a combination of 2018 and 2019, and is themed around a feeling of confusing transitioning into finding oneself. Beyond that, I believe it’s pretty vague.

Does anyone know what "Vorca Rhe" actually means? I believe it's the name of the planet from which all the performers on the field are from, or something similar as they are all extraterrestrial beings, hence the Katy Perry song. The general idea of the show is that the big blue ball at the bottom left is a spaceship or home of some kind from which everyone on the field is escaping from and throughout the show they get drawn back towards that spaceship. I think that's the gist of it anyway. I could be totally wrong about all of this but this is what I saw someone say when explaining the show.

I’m going through some rough patches of service- did they take out the Katy Perry or did I just miss it?

Ok, I can actually see why Vista Ridge was in the bottom half. Visual GE really seems to be lacking in their show. Also I can't help but think of Avon 2009 when watching their show, so I'm sure that is not something that works in their favor. They play fantastically, of course and still fully deserve their Finals spot.

I’m still astounded on how incredible they sound. They have such a full, rich sound and a lot of power behind it too. Congratulations on your finals spot, you deserve it Rouse!!

What's the piece Rouse is playing after the opening hit? It's the same one Brownsburg is playing, and I think Prosper as well... they all have been doing great with GE this season as well, haha.

Loved Rouse's ballad, those soloists are super talented. Great show and I can see why this won AAA in prelims. Leander ISD is really making waves out here.

Rouse's brass seemed a bit rough in the opener but they definitely settled into it by the middle of the show. Nice to hear someone actually play Bruckner with the gusto it deserves.

I love Rouse and their show. It sounded SOOOO good.
But am I wrong that it doesn't have near the musical challenge as the two shows before it?

Rouse's full ensemble sounds are just astoundingly rich and golden. Ahhhhh! They sound sensational!!
The Elgar ballad impact is probably one of the most, if not the most, musical moment any Texas band brought to the field this year. So many ups and downs in their dynamics and slight pushes and pulls in tempo and emotion. LOVE IT!! I knew Rouse would bust into Finals at some point after 2019, but I never could possibly have guessed it would have been so clear and dramatic.
A fun hippy show with some Grateful Dead & John Adams, a modern, sleek, aggressive and intense Barber show, and then an elegant, galant, sophisticated work of art. WHAT A FINALS SO FAR!!

I’ll never forget watching Coppell irl at STL finals. Their final impact blew me away, and it was literally one of the most iconic marching band moments I’ve personally ever witnessed myself. Can’t wait to see them perform real soon!

That show just made me so happy. It will go down as one of my all time favorites. With the exception of maybe Marcus and Cedar Ridge, this band was going up against a field of other bands that are quite literally twice their size (or larger). They showed they belonged and gave us the complete opposite of what most others are offering tonight. What a magical first appearance at San Antonio finals - well done, Rouse!

Air Waltz by Oliver Davis. My favorite part of the three bands playing it is that all three versions are SO different.
