If there's not 2 regionals every single weekend, there's not enough. One on SASR weekend is enough with UIL going on around it.

Give me more Texas regionals: Austin San Antonio (regional and super) 2 DFW 2 Houston McAllen Waco Midland El Paso Abilene Amarillo Corpus Christi Texarkana If there's not 2 regionals every single weekend, there's not enough. This would be so extra and I would love every single bit of it.

The only super Camdenton has not been to is Indy- I would not be surprised to see them attend in 2022, possibly in lieu of GN. Just an educated guess though. It’s been 2 seasons since a trip year and both Camdenton HS bands and choirs had trip years on a 3 year rotation. San Antonio is also a possibility now that Rouse has moved up to AAA.
(I meant to post this here, oops! Watching bands and not paying close enough attention to the thread.)

Well it looks like we're getting new regionals in North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Arizona, Southern California, and Kentucky as well as a second one in Dallas! A lot more western presence with the Arizona and California regionals along with the northeastern area in New Jersey. The second one in Dallas should bring more bands to the scene as DFW has a ton of top tier bands that are capable of filling up two BOA regionals. Great news for next season!

So exciting, but still holding out for a Pacific Northwest regional to make a comeback. I know weather has been a factor the last couple of times but there are literally domes.

NJ REGIONAL!!! WOOHOO! I won't have to spend $40 on gas to traveling to Maryland and a New Mexico Regional. Wow. I just can't wait to see Organ Mountain HS, Clovis HS, Eldorado HS next year.

My money is on the NM regional being in Las Cruces, which is basically El Paso so I'm counting it as a Texas regional

Curious to see if the North Carolina Regional returns to Winston-Salem, or if they try to go somewhere in the Charlotte Area. I would love to see the Kentucky Regional held in Lexington.

I can't see it being anywhere other than at Wake Forest in W-S. Charlotte doesn't really have any stadiums that are either large enough or have enough space. And no, the Panthers' stadium is not an option. The team controls use of the stadium and they don't grant it for anything else outside of large college football games and international soccer. PS: lets please not end up at the race track again.......

The NJ regional is an interesting choice to me. It feels to me like they're perhaps trying to cut into USBands' territory and draw in bands like Dartmouth and Norwalk? Perhaps also some of the NY bands. Of course, I'd expect to see a lot of overlap here with the DC regional (I'd expect VA, MD, and some PA bands to show up to this). It'll be potentially interesting to see how Dartmouth matches up against whoever chooses to come up from further South (James Madison, Spring-Ford, Norwin, Kiski, Bassett??)

The New Jersey Regional will almost certainly be in New Brunswick. Rutgers as an exhibition band isn't a coincidence.

My money is on the NM regional being in Las Cruces, which is basically El Paso so I'm counting it as a Texas regional Las Cruces or Albuquerque are pretty much the only choices. Both are interesting. New Mexico State University already holds the big Tournament of Bands competition the first Saturday in November, which draws a lot of El Paso bands. Will NMSU host a second event? Will TOB become a BOA Regional? Or will it be a separate event at the Field of Dreams (the football stadium for Las Cruces Public Schools; one of the few high school stadiums in the state that would be appropriate for a BOA Regional). Las Cruces is 3 hours from Albuquerque. How many ABQ bands would attend? It's also 4 hours from Tucson, so it might pick up a few Arizona bands. ABQ has pretty much the same issue. The University of New Mexico already hosts the ZIA Marching Festival in mid-late October, New Mexico's other big show and the unofficial state championships. Clovis and all the ABQ bands attend this every year. Would UNM host a second show? Not many high schools are an option. Manzano H.S. and Rio Rancho H.S. are probably the only two with the space/stadium combo to make the logistics work, although the stadiums are a little small. ABQ might get some Colorado and Texas panhandle bands. But how many Las Cruces/El Paso bands would travel up? Eastern New Mexico University in Portales and New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas I suppose would be options, but they're both very out of the way. Western New Mexico University in Silver City has a grass field and not enough space to host 20 bands.

I'm a little surprised BOA hasn't tried to put a Regional in Oklahoma. All the bands in Oklahoma, plus it would draw from Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and North Texas.

Winston Salem is back!!!!!!! My greatest wish has been granted. Billy Joel, you will never hurt us again. I was surprised to hear this, too! I didn't think this would happen again given how burnt BOA must've felt when they got scheduled over, but I guess the leadership change came with a different vision too.

Also, one year ago today Music for All released the full 2021 BOA schedule. Maybe we’ll see a similar release window? It was normally mid to late December in most years, if I’m not mistaken.

As just announced at Grand Nationals: If it was said during the livestream i just missed it, but OMGGGG A SECOND DFW SHOW!!! God help me😳😂 A SoCal regional is awesome, get more involvement from bands there always, the NC regional is a welcome addition for those southeastern/mid-Atlantic bands and of course the NJ contest will cover that area as well. Interesting new territory wanting to cover the full southwest with at least 1 regional in between Cali and Texas. I know what I’m excited for too since the DFW regional’s always been my must-attend contest! And with two options that definitely opens the door for more intrastate and interstate bands coming there too!! My only question would be whether both shows’ll be in Pennington, or 1 in the mesquite stadium, a North/South kinda thing? Plenty of venues BOA could use in the Area at least

Pennington is slightly closer to Fort Worth, so they might try to put the second regional in East Dallas like Mesquite or Garland

Note: number of regionals going from 18 to 24 and 7 "new" locations are listed. To make the math work, an existing regional must go away.
New Jersey as the new Mid-Atlantic? Or Kentucky as a replacement for one of the three early-season Ohio shows?

Or Kentucky as a replacement for one of the three early-season Ohio shows? I took it as 24 regionals, 3 supers and GN. The way it was worded made the supers sound separate from the regionals, to me. The math works out to keep all the regionals this season and add the new ones mentioned.

The 3 SRs and GN have no impact ad those don't change.
