I am an Ohio band alum (Northmont). I remember some.of these schools, but not their bands. Didn't get to see many of these smaller groups when we were in STL. is it typical to not have a battery and put all percussionists in a pit located on the field? Northmont as in THAT 1997 winter guard production? As a former Northmont band staff member...yes, and it gets mentioned often

I think we're witnessing our first semi finalist! Top 11 from panel 2, I suspect. Nice show Bentonville. I think we had at least one semifinalist in the first block. Don't forget the class advancers.

I naively forgot to account for the fact that I’m an hour behind Indianapolis. Do y’all think Alter will be in semis? I missed them at St. Louis (I was planning to catch them as the class rep but Sullivan absolutely deserved that spot). My opinion is yes.

I look forward to reading someone's detailed comparison of the mythical / celestial shows from Meade County, Fairborn, and Lakota East.

Looking back on the past few years…I feel like bicycles are almost on the level of umbrellas when it comes to alternative guard equipment. Modernizing the flying monkeys by making them a biker gang was so genius (and super cute). Wish Tarpon was here this weekend!

It's not been a great day for concert French horn players in duets with flute players.

I wonder if they have a breathing plan, the color guard is incredibly synchronized, front ensemble pulses well, battery plays simple but clean rhythms, winds carry the ballad well, glad to see the Miamisburg band compete! After LeQuit James left, I thought the city was done for.

The way this show starts off with people lying down and mask of zorro themes are amazing, I’m glad to see Hamilton’s living to his legacy in American politics he made the Bank of America people and it’s very important we tell his story like Manuel the Miranda said, I hope the band works more on their synchronization getting up, the front ensemble impacts could be a bit more in time with the battery, I hope the winds stop taking breaths that disrupt the long tones, overall a great showing from Hamilton, sneak finals contenders!??!?!?!!?!??!??

Lots of flaws in Tippecanoe's show, to be sure, and I'd actually prefer no narration to better narration, but I do appreciate how they begin their story in medias res.

Color me a bit surprised (green even!) by Easley. I think they did a really good job of putting up themselves in a position to possibly snag a Class Rep slot. They are in a more conducive panel to achieve it.

Had to miss the Indy regional broadcast, so I'm excited to get my first real viewing of Homestead this year. Lots of great surprises so far today - hoping Homestead is one of them!

The ridiculous demand in this show will make them top 22 IMO. They are moving and playing more than most bands in the country. Good job Homestead!
