Pretty good Reagan!!! I thought I heard some trumpet stickouts in some parts (especially big hits) and the triple tonguing was a little muddy but I loved that woodwind feature. And that guard is huge!!!!

I think that was Reagan's strongest run of the year! Thought they had a brilliant performance and a great finish to their season!

The crowds are big and apparently fewer gates are open right now than usual. Making it tough for spectators to get in timely. They let Reagan parents jump in line and probably DB parents now too. Hopefully it fills up after DB. Yep... Only gate open was the North gate so it was VERY slow moving. Makes no sense that they didn't have another one open, but I'm guessing it was due to staff shortage.

Predictions for lowest and highest scores? I could see the top 10 all breaking 90, and whoever wins gets a high 96

When exactly are judges supposed to start judging? A lot of shows have pre and post shows... are those parts included in judging?

The guard work is still kind of dated when you look at Avon, Carmel, etc. I don’t think that it’s dated, I just think that they’re ready for the next level! Agreed 100%! The foundation is there and now it’s time to push forward. I’m sure there are plenty of Crossmen and Oklahoma guard alums who would jump to be on staff with some of these groups.

How would Indiana class A bands like Lewis cass, western, and edgewood fare against the dominant force of Kentucky? I don’t understand why they just choose not to compete anymore after state. Western has been a class finalist in the not-too-distant past.

These backdrops are super effective too. This soft opening and slow build for D-B is fantastic. The arrangements for a 'well used' number seem fairly fresh to me as well.

When exactly are judges supposed to start judging? A lot of shows have pre and post shows... are those parts included in judging? In DCI they begin judging after the introduction of the drum major(s) and the “Drum Corps International is proud to present…”. I’d assume BOA starts after their version of the announcer introduction.

Crowd looking rather thin. Lower reaches outside the 10s pretty empty. Rest of lower bowl filled in nicely by the time Reagan took the field. Higher levels where you get the full effect of shows is well-populated.

D-B Guard is making that unison flag work pop too on that statement before this transition to the ballad and more choral.

Predictions for lowest and highest scores? I could see the top 10 all breaking 90, and whoever wins gets a high 96 If you think about DB beating blue springs I could easily see 11 at 90 with maybe vista ridge just short. I think it comes down to perceived gaps between bands. If larger than many of us expect a few scores may get pushed down to 88ish.

90 total members in the Murray band. Thanks! I’m terrible at counting band members especially from a screen I have the numbers given by directors to Jolesch.

DB has one of the best uses of props in the finals lineup imo Absolutely. They've been bringing them in gradually from the back line in ways that shape the field for their band size and allowing the drill to compress without making field coverage effect suffer. It's really good design.

Really these arrangements are great. I mean we've all heard Appalachian Spring on the field before and particularly Simple Gifts only what, a million times? But this mix of violin, woodwinds, and choral groups seems like a totally new take.

Is this an unusually sparse crowd for Grand Nats or do people just tend to sit higher up? The blast zone and mid zones have a lot of empty seats. I think semi awards went so long… people are still coming in The stadium was actually cleared 5 minutes earlier than scheduled after semifinals awards.

Dobyns may not have the flashiest show, but it’s damn beautiful. The live choir and band singing at the end is a touching moment. Great job DB!

Wow!!! This was my first time watching Dobyns-Bennett this year and may I say what a show! The choir at the beginning and throughout the show sounded fantastic and added a great layer to the production. The ballad in particular was a highlight for me at the big impact. But the ending with the entire band at the front of the field singing was BEAUTIFUL! Loved it!
