OMG- I love the choral aspect at the end but that sousa player is not having it! lol I saw that too. There were a few that weren't singing but just posing. I imagine those are the "um...don't sing" kids?

Bruh that tuba looked absolutely zooted at the end there. I was distracted by the quad player who looked like he was on cloud nine, a rare sight in the drumline lol

Shark guy made me think of Avon's Fish Tale show with the parents that wore fish outfits and ran around the aisles as the band set up.

Crowd looking rather thin. Lower reaches outside the 10s pretty empty. Rest of lower bowl filled in nicely by the time Reagan took the field. Higher levels where you get the full effect of shows is well-populated. Looks like section 139 (midfield) emptied out again when the Reagan parents went to their real seats.

Wow- Vista Ridge sounds great! Do they always march sans shako/plume?

Wow. Vista Ridge sounds fantastic. This is a bottom half band? I mean...this year must just be stacked for music.

The drum break, the trumpet tonguing. Everything is so crisp.

Vista Ridge and their Big Blue Balls blue me away! Jokes aside, what a fantastic and thoroughly enjoying show. I'm glad that, as I touched them, they touched me.

For me, guard book is lacking. Yeah, but that's about all that's holding Vista Ridge back in performance demand. Music was fantastic and I was watching individual marching and it was really well controlled and uniform from marcher to marcher. Welcome to finals, Vista Ridge. Don't be a stranger! Keep growing.

That was Vista Ridge's best run of the season! Excellent brass playing throughout the entire show and the woodwind quartet in the closer was spectacular! A little bit of dirt in the visual design, and the guard does leave something to be desired, but a superb run by them!

Sorry I will not be able to really participate in here right now for finals. I'll be here at the end to give my super accurate (but not really) rankings! I'm just too busy taking the pictures on the blog. So follow along there too for all the praise we can slather onto these amazing groups!

They were definitely the top performing band musically thus far. Loved the energy and the marching is superb as is the form awareness.

For me, guard book is lacking. I have to keep myself from constantly being mad about it. Vista Ridge’s guard is not finals quality and I don’t think it’s the fault of the performers. They need someone who writes for them with intention and I’m not seeing it. It’s been bothering me all season! You can tell the performers are talented and are just being given lackluster work.

I'm so happy for Mason. They really had a tough situation pre-COVID. They are on their way back!

Yes- exactly! It is frustrating to see so many guard members turn their heads to look what others were doing though. I think the guard is the missing piece for Vista Ridge to move to the next level.

Vista Ridge were solid, looking for something a little bit more just in general personally.

Hmm Mason's uniforms blend to the turf a bit much from high cam to pop. That opening ensemble with winds and French horn is great though.

Vista Ridge. Please hire guard staff. Sincerely, ilikeguard.
That aside- incredible run, Ranger Band! Best all season! You have shown us you belong in finals! That was a performance to be proud of. I am thoroughly impressed!

Uniform design for Mason is definitely a drawback. On closer shots, I'm seeing all the really nicely done precision bodywork they're doing, and it's a lot! But from high that detail seems lost.
