Favorite opening statement: The Woodlands Favorite opener: Hebron Favorite ballad: Carmel Favorite closer: Avon Favorite drumline: Avon Favorite brass section: Hebron (HM Vandegrift, Avon, Broken Arrow) Favorite woodwind section: Hebron (HM Carmel, Flower Mound) Favorite guard: Carmel (HM Avon, Broken Arrow, The Woodlands) Favorite soloist(s): Marcus’ horns (HM Hebron saxes) Favorite props: Flower Mound (HM Dobyns-Bennett) Favorite musical design: Carmel Favorite visual design: Avon
Some notable “moments” that I’m going to remember for a while -Hebron’s big block pull in the opener -Woodlands brass feature into W set -the sensory explosion of seeing FloMo’s opener from the stands -Every single second of Carmel’s ballad -Avon’s opener, particularly the drill. It was extremely impressive. -the backfield playing section of BA’s ballad And so many more. I’m definitely gonna have to post more as you guys jog my memory!

As wonderful as many of the soloists at Grand Nationals were, my top soloist for the season was the Kennesaw Mountain concert euphonium (which I was blessed to enjoy twice at Johnson City).

Some of the many unforgettable moments of the 2021 season: - Flower Mound. Literally the whole thing. But more specifically, the guard at the very end of the show. I truly believe the colors and the music combined made it the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen; not exaggerating. - Sitting in the Flower Mound Parent section at Finals. Those people are so nice! I was cheering for FloMo just as loud as the parents, with my TX flag and all! (which is ironic because I’m not from TX lol) - Carmel’s flag feature! - Hebron actually winning - “How wonderful life is, when you’re in the world” becoming the official BOA 2021™️ slogan - Marcus mellos - The Woodlands W
