I remember attending GN finals in 2003 and being absolutely blown away by Marian Catholics show, I think it was called Facets. Does anyone recall what their musical selections were, and more importantly does anyone have a vid of this performance? It was an incredibly tense show from start to finish with moments of shear chaos exploding into sublime bliss.
The last minute or so of the show where all the triangle forms come together in the center of the field and the entire band is beating on drum heads into one large crescendo to end the show was probably one of the most intense moments in GN history.

I am sure someone has it on their google drive that they can PM you the link.
That was a show that really hit its peak at Grand Nationals. I really loved those Marian shows of the early 2000s.

I have an mp3 of it; I have a video...somewhere. God only knows where.
That show was such a pain in the ass to put on the field, but I love it. It's grown on me over the years. Nothing like being 6 pointed by Lake Park at the Joust, and Davenport Central coming within 2 points at another local show.
I'm still befuddled as to how we won visual at Indy....

MC 2003 Side note: I was absolutely shocked and saddened to see in my last alumni newsletter to see Jonathan Schultz (head drum major) passed away last June. Marched a year of bass clarinet with him before he was made drum major and was in concert and symphonic band with him.

That is sad to hear about the passing of that drum major. That show has to be one of the most difficult shows that a high school drum major has had to conduct. I know Marian has had a lot of difficult musical shows, but 2003 is probably among their top 5 most complex. I can only imagine how difficult it was early in the season to keep that show together. I distinctly remember being in awe of the Marian drum majors, especially the ones who conducted the 1995, 2000 and 2003 shows.
