Twice I've attended the Prelims at this show in the morning-afternoon and then maximized the number of bands I could see in one day by catching a northwest Ohio OMEA show in the evening: Maumee in 2016 and Ottawa-Glandorf in 2021. (In both cases, there was at least one band at the OMEA show that I think was strong enough to have qualified for Finals at the Toledo BOA show.) While I'll be otherwise occupied this year, I'll note that there is a show at Maumee on Saturday evening, so it would be possible for someone to do this.

This is a nice line-up. Lots of questions I have. How is lake central? Will Jenison continue the success (same designer as Flower Mound who’s name is escaping me).
While I think Homestead and Rockford will be 1 and 2, I think that will depend on Homestead. Ie, how clean they are. If Rockford has had a strong start I could see Homestead potentially being beat. It is, once again, still early.

They were 3rd in AAA (band size), behind Plainfield North at 72.400, Lockport Township at 70.200, and then them at 65.800. The AA champion, Huntley, was ahead of them as well at 68.000. The next band behind them was Lake Park at a 63.100. Visual Ensemble and Visual GE is the big difference; 3 points behind Lockport in VPE and 2 points in VGE. Scores from the Rockford Invitational (MI) Reeths-Puffer: 77.500 Jenison: 79.400 Rockford: 78.600
Reeths-Puffer with a strong showing and Jenison taking 1st overall. MCBA sheets are slightly different from BOA, but relatively close. Look for Michigan to have a strong showing at this regional. I would bet all 5 of the MI groups make finals, the others being PCEP and DeWitt. DeWitt has been on the rise in Michigan, beating out R-P last year for the Flight III state title. Hoping for great weather and no electronics issues!

This may be a smaller regional, but it's also very unpredictable. I like that. I feel like 2nd-5th could go any way, along with the 6th-11th and 12th-15th place ranges. Going to be a fun show!

At least their concert band is still absolutely breathtaking to watch though

I have not seen PCEP yet, but historically, their shows hit their stride mid-late season. Homestead of course is the front runner and will be hard to beat. I still have my eyes on Jenison.

And an aerial view on Google Maps doesn't appear to provide any nearby (easily walkable) free parking options.

And an aerial view on Google Maps doesn't appear to provide any nearby (easily walkable) free parking options. Can confirm as when I went last year there was no good closer parking in general. Even with a handicap placard/plate. Prepare for a small hike so leave plenty of time to get to the gate and then to your seat. That said, it is a nice stadium and a great venue for a contest.
