Take my predictions with a grain of salt, but after watching the NEISD video I think itβs: CTJ (visual, GE) Reagan (music) Cedar Ridge or even Cedar Ridge with the music caption.

What is your rationale for Reagan first? Just curious β¦ I heard they've improved DRASTICALLY since the last I heard anything about them. Very possible. Also saw the NEISD and Reaganβs show has some super cool music. I actually like all 3 shows so far pretty well!

Predictions Update: 1. Ronald Reagan (Sweep) 2. Cedar Ridge 3. Claudia Taylor Johnson What is your rationale for Reagan first? Just curious β¦ I think people are weirdly and unnecessarily dogging on Reagan too much especially with this comment. Theyβre a very strong and capable band especially early season, even if they donβt keep up the pace. Iβd definitely put them as competitive with Cedar Ridge and I think being skeptical to even think they could finish on top is a little strange given their previous early season succes.

Yep, I donβt doubt it! But as many of us donβt live in SA (or texas) we only see what we see from videos on YT / Instagram and thatβs pretty much all we have until boa competition. We can only asses what we have All 3 programs are great, I think it will be a great competition at the top.

Usually people are weirdly dogging on CTJ. Itβs going to be a great contest no matter who pulls off the win here and itβs fun not being sure for a change who the winner will be!

Definitely one of the most unique the Planets arrangements I've heard in a long time from CTJ.

Thought CTJ was excellent. Their show this year is a little less flashy than we're accustomed to seeing from them, but I really like the music arrangement and thought they played it very well. Visually they've still got that typical CTJ demand and they're doing a really good job at meeting it. It's not totally meshed together for me yet but I think once they add their last movement it'll start to come together more.

CTJ sounded great and they hit most of their forms but their visual individual looks really really dirty compared to what I've seen from other bands this year. We've only just left September so there is plenty of time to fix it but, I would be surprises if it doesn't hurt them pretty bad at this comp.

CTJ is phenomenal and puts on one heck of a production, but I still have such difficulty with the arrangements. I often feel I am listening to a mix tape artist, where it's difficult to find continuity and a cohesive thought. There are competing melodies and themes throughout, interwoven with frequent woodwind runs. A very "everything but the kitchen sink" type of approach compositionally.
There's no doubt in my mind this is one of the best bands in the country and they will deservingly do well competitively in every competition they enter. It's one of those situations where I'm perfectly able to acknowledge their excellence while also not finding myself particularly attached to the content.

Reagan was pretty phenomenal. Great way to end prelims. I didn't catch Cedar Ridge, but Reagan looks like they'll be pretty tough to beat.
As a side note, they must have close to 100 members in their guard and visual ensemble, and wow are they effective.

I'm usually not a huge fan of Reagan's style (the kids perform the heck out it every year) but this show is really a feast for the eyes and ears. What a wonderful show. Great job Reagan.

Haven't exactly been watching this regional, but I did catch CTJ and Reagan, and I'd put Reagan higher in Visual and GE. Didn't catch Cedar Ridge, but based on how they've been doing recently, it wouldn't shock me if they took one or a few captions.

Reagan had a really good run in prelims. Visually while it's not the most original drill they're very clean and have a lot of moments that give that wow factor. Musically they're tackling some challenging passages while still having those classic big moments we've become accustomed to seeing from Reagan. It's tight for me right now between Reagan, CTJ, and Cedar Ridge.

I love how old-school Reagan goes in this show. Definitely get a super abstract Chambers-era vibe this year. Great job!

They do what they do very well. Well taught, well performed. I'm just not sophisticated enough to grasp it, I guess. Last year was great for a plebian like myself and was extremely enjoyable.

Usually we can anticipate when a band is about to have a big breakout year (Rouse, Pearland, Westwood) but Foster really came out of nowhere. I donβt think they were on anyones radar, congratulations!
Huge fight for top spot here, Cedar Ridge pulled through on general effect but it could be anyones game tonight.

Nice show from Seven Lakes. Usually I feel spelling words in the drill is kinda corny but I thought they pulled it off pretty well and sounded great too. Likely won't break into the top half but they're in a good place to build towards the rest of the season.

Seven Lakes was such a pleasant surprise. Visually very interesting and caught me off guard with how strong they were musically. This may be their year breaking into San Antonio.
Foster was an even bigger surprise. A very deserving finalist at this regional. They don't come from a district with prominent BOA names, so I'm very interested in hearing about how they got the band to this level and seeing where they go in the future.

Did something go wrong during their run? It seemed great to me No, nothing went wrong. Everything went right. This band made a HUGE statement. I'm just so caught off guard. They were terrific last year, but the maturity and conviction in their performance tonight was just out of this world.
