It's probably safe to say Norwin won't be at this regional for 2022...their Calendar says they have a homecoming parade that day.

As previously noted, Maryland now has a home game on this date.
Delaware and Towson (Baltimore) have both hosted regionals before and have away games this weekend. Either could be a replacement site.

I think it was Towson where a roadie died of a heart attack several years back and I heard that some of the walking was quite strenuous..

Huh, this should be a fun regional. I’m excited to see how Fort Mill and Kiski will stack up against each other. I also know that Mill Creek, Freedom, James Madison and John P. Stevens are also not be forgotten.

Oh how things change… and yet they don’t 😁 Not sure why they feel the need to travel so far for a boa show with quite a few in driving distance. But they don’t seem to care about distance do they.

When it comes to Fort Mill, they’d normally go to Winston Salem and other competitions that Nation Ford usually goes to. However, when the new school was built (Catawba Ridge) there was a silent agreement between Fort Mill and the other bands to avoid competing against each other at every competition. Both bands look super solid at the moment, so it should be a good competition. I can see them trading places for 1st and 2nd between prelims and finals. No matter who comes out on top, both bands are deserving of the win.

Hot take (maybe?). I think it's dumb when schools agree not to compete against each other. I get the argument for it, but I still don't like it.

Normally it would be the meeting point for the Fort Mill bands but this year, Fort Mill is going to this regional instead of BandBEAT. I don’t doubt they’ll go back in 2023, but not this year apparently.

However, I understand that in the Fort Mill District Area, fierce rivalries can form out of the smallest of things. So I understand why it happens there but generally, yes I agree.

Hot take (maybe?). I think it's dumb when schools agree not to compete against each other. I get the argument for it, but I still don't like it. I've been wishing Lakota East and Lakota West would commit to a friendly rivalry. They seem to be starting to compete against each other more often, so hopefully something is changing. They'll both be at GN this fall, for example. Wondering if it's because of the potential class disparity starting this BOA season?
