If anyone in the top 3 is extraordinary, it'd 100% be Walton. I see what you did there.

I can't wait to see Harrison Batman show it's been so long since I've seen an batman show. Btw Union 1994 was my favorite should've made finals in GN. I saw Harrison yesterday at Cobb Ex and it was truly an impressive show. Definitely think they will make the top three

I think alot of people are discounting Bartlett High school from TN. they are having an amazing year and even though they are fairly new to BOA they had a really strong showing at an earlier regional. another dark horse is Hernando, they are coming off of a super regional finals berth last week and I'm sure they will be cleaning it up even more. I'm not saying either of these are going to top DB but watch out! ya never know

While this is a very different contest from Clarksville, I can definitely see them making a case for finals, as well as Hernando.

New here, hello! I saw Walton's show at Winston-Salem. It was stunning! I was surprised they didn't finish 2nd. Interested to see how they place in Jacksonville.

I wasn't there in person but after seeing videos I'm surprised Harrison was ahead of them, although by a small margin. Jacksonville will be interesting! I think we'll see Walton pull ahead.

Karns and Pelham are late drops from the show. Updates made to the schedule at the top of the page.

This show will give us a good idea of where Byrnes is. If they steal a caption or are within 2 points of DB I think they’re at least within striking distance of making GN finals. If someone passes them or they’re pretty far away from DB my bet is they aren’t that close.
I think KM and Harrison are probably a little perturbed by their lack of definite success so far this season and may be trying to make up for it at this show. Who knows!

The music caption is something that I am worried about with DB at this event. Their show has some pretty difficult moments that still seemed pretty dirty in a local competition last week. I wouldn't be surprised if the music caption is a nail biter between Byrnes and DB as it definitely seems like a show that won't be musically clean until Indy. It reminds me of 2017 when we didn't have a SINGLE run without a tear until rehearsal AT Indy.

I thought you said you weren’t at the competition in another post you made. You know videos can be pretty deceiving. 😉

My prediction: 1. Dobyns-Bennett, TN 2. James F. Byrnes, SC 3. Collierville, TN 4. Hernando, MS 5. Harrison, GA 6. Bartlett, TN 7. Walton, GA 8. Kennesaw Mountain, GA 9. DeSoto Central, MS 10. Hardin Valley Academy, TN 11. Alan C. Pope, GA 12. Sparkman, AL I'm on the fence w/ Pope and Sparkman. In final bubbles: Mill Creek (GA) Paragould (AR) James Clemens (AL) Gulfport (MS) Lambert (GA) I think this is the closest I’ve seen to what will actually happen. I think 3-8 will be a shake down. Bartlett has edged out Collierville locally, but that could translate differently to BOA. KM was also only half a point behind Collierville at Indy, but that could look different in the shorter day. I’ll also say Bartlett was two points from O’Fallon and Castle in Clarksville - I’d say this is much more impressive than Harrison and Walton finishing 2 points from Catawba Ridge a couple of weeks ago. Whatever happens, the most interesting thing at this contest will be these 6 groups fighting for bronze. Also remember DC dropped. I would bump up Mill Creek into finals ahead of Hardin Valley and Sparkman. Hardin Valley has a wonderful visual program but don’t play as well as the rest of the finalist pack. Sparkman has had drill delivery problems this season which has set production back (saw them at state champs last weekend and their guard didn’t have any work for the closer). Has anyone seen anything from Lambert? They’re a wild card because they normally make a back-half-of-finals appearance but I’ve not seen anything from them.

I’m just saying that because of the difficulty of this show, it will take a bit longer than usual for it to reach its true form. But trust me, I have no doubt they will get it done!

I’m not familiar enough with these bands to do a prediction, but I do think Paragould will be in finals.

Well, Mother Nature's good graces for BOA Regionals may be coming to an end this weekend as rain is projected for Saturday in Jacksonville. Prelims should be OK weather-wise as rain chances are a lot greater in the evening.

Prelims should be OK weather-wise as rain chances are a lot greater in the evening. A couple days ago it looked like we were almost certainly going to be in the rail all day (think 90% chance during the day and 70% during the evening). Last check - low probability during the day and increasing to 30-50% chance as the evening progresses). Outlook improves every time I check the forecast. Of course, meteorology is a science that is only slightly more reliable than your typical local marching show adjudication panel.

Prelims should be OK weather-wise as rain chances are a lot greater in the evening. Weather has really cooperated this season pretty good. I hope the show goes on as it is very important show for Byrnes. On DB musically, I sort of agree. I think tonality they are better than 2017, but in terms of power I think 17’ is still on top. This years show is not easy for sure. I also think now that the competition band doesn’t really start competing until mid October they seem to be taking the competitive show slowly.

I think DB has a lot going for them. I do think music is kind of dirty right now. I kinda wish there wasn't as much singing, which is funny because I actually quite enjoyed the singing in last year's production

Always something you hate to see. From a recent Facebook post, DB has about 8 kids absent due to the flu. I don’t know if they still have alternates, but if they do this shouldn’t be too much of a problem

I remember *cue dino voice* back when I maaaahched, I left rehearsal the monday before the Atlanta super regional my senior year, went to an urgent care clinic, got diagnosed with the flu, and was back for the rehearsal on thursday. Band kids are a different breed for better or worse.
