Classification update. Westfield moves down to AAA from AAAA. Any idea if Wakefield has been updated? Curious if they're making the move down to Class A.

Westfield beat JP Stevens by .2 last night if that's any indication of how things are going in NJ (77.7 vs 77.5)

Opener just really isn’t working for me… just weird and slow. However the ballad is beautiful and that flute soloist is just knockout amazing. I also love “level up” so the closer is super great. Hope the weather here holds alright.

Hope the weather here holds alright. I agree with everything except the opener...I LOVE THIS OPENER😂. I think it's super quarky and definitely different from the Norwin we all know...and the brass this year is maybe the strongest they have had in the last decade...maybe even 2 so it really hits for me. Excited to see this at the regional...after seeing the video I believe that's the winner right there.

I think this is one of their better designed shows, however, the first movement is a little lacking substance/depth musically for my taste. I do think they’re our definite winner and AA champ for this show.

A note with Norwin’s performance clip: Not all props were on the field and the wind had color guard marking their tosses. As an alum I will say that this year is one of the strongest ensembles. Especially musically. Next weekend will be the first of two big competitions. Keep your eyes on them. As always, this show is not final until the last run.

I would argue that their 2012-2014 era had a stronger ensemble sound but this is a close second.

I think this year and last year their brass has sounded incredibly uniform while simultaneously playing at max volume which I don't think was evident in the era you pointed out. Not to say they didn't sound good (they definitely did) but the fullness and power wasn't there like it is now imo.

2012 Norwin was a beautiful underrated show Exactly. I’ve seen 2012, 2013, and 2022 live. The demand musically is not there this year. 2012 is my favorite post millennium norwin show and their most successful regional season to date.

Their 2010 show, They Who Walk the Path, is still my favorite Norwin show. They caught everyone completely off guard at the Indy SR that year, and I still believe they had a realistic shot at finals had they attended GN. Really wish that show was online because I remember it being phenomenal.

Adjudication Panel
Music - David Maccabee, Matt McCready, Jay Webb Visual - Michael Gray, Bruce Jones, Juno Orefice Chief Judge - Richard Saucedo
The list is one short on Music Judges. We'll have to see if another person is added or if Richard Saucedo will end up serving a dual role.

Williamstown has dropped. Add Bergenfield and Robbinsville as the first two bands. Schedule at top of page has been updated. OMG!!! Bergenfield. That's huge surprise. They were NJ largest band usually around 190-220 members and they're a festival band. Still compete in Festival Class in USBands and NJMBDA, but they have dropped in numbers. Robbinsville has been on the up and up since COVID and grew in number. My first year seeing them:
