This is undeniably a Carmel show. Nothing over the top flashy. Their typical design which you either seem to love or hate (I’m personally a fan 😉). I like their take on Barber’s Symphony No. 1 but nothing will compare to Avon 2009 in my books. It’s going to be another successful season for the Marching Greyhound’s!

Ironic that Jay Webb was on the field judging Music for Finals.

I am a sucker for a Cartwright production, so naturally I love Brownsburg again this season. It makes me SO happy seeing how far they have come in the last 5 years. The cohesive theme and color palette is spectacular! In comparison to last season, this years show does feel like a little bit of a step down though. Not much, but enough to be noticeable. Some parts of this year’s production just feel out of place. The props are so large that at times they do seem to be a struggle to move and are not quite hitting their mark yet. Plenty of time to fix that though. Overall a pretty great show. It’s going to be interesting to see where they are compared to Fishers and Castle in the coming weeks.

Westfield is definitely living up to the hype this season. Why are they in Scholastic class and not open class though when it comes to ISSMA? To me they are there for the wrong purpose! 🫣 Well…yeah. Unsurprising if you dig a bit.

Pretty big score gaps other than 8th/9th, and 5th/6th. And my predictions continue to get worse and worse...

This was my first time seeing Lawrence Township this season. First off I’m personally glad they ditched the show format they had been doing the past few seasons and have gone back to a “real” show. While visually it seems pretty basic so far, there is definitely room for growth! I’m just glad they have that competitive feeling again. I know it's a matter of preference, but I personally loved the style of shows LT had been producing the past few seasons. It was a style uniquely theirs in the BOA world and I always found myself so entertained. I don't know if I preferred what Lawrence Township presented in recent years (and I wasn't following BOA closely prior to that and didn't know what they used to be like), but I do appreciate a great variety of approaches to marching band and was glad to see them doing something different. On a much lower level, this is why I appreciated much that Newark, Franklin Heights, Philo, Maysville, and especially Tri-Valley were doing in Ohio over the past 5-10 years, even when it didn't completely succeed. The world is a better place for their efforts.

Congratulations to Carmel. This makes regional win number 26! Carmel has the second highest number of regional titles and is closing the gap on Norwin's 29.

Do you have an updated list of the current standings on regional titles? No, the regional title thread in the history section goes through 2021. I plan to update that stuff after the 2022 season.

First of all, congratulations to all the bands that performed! I personally wasn't there yesterday but did watch some on Box 5. Here's one thing I can say about some Kentucky bands, please practice early in the morning during the school year. The undeniable difference between KY Bands and iN bands it's stark as day and night!
Madison Central- Love the show! Definitely moving in three right direction! GRC - I can't wait to see the finished product!!
I was doing some bandy stuff so I didn't see much!
Finals, I kinda listened to and watched a little while driving home!
BoCo - what are you feeding them kids! Love it!!!
Walled Lake - really liked the show music
Brownsburg - reminds me of Broken Arrow Jr! Sounded Good!
Congratulations Carmel on an unsurprising win!
I couldn't watch finals asi was driving home!
Madison Central - Congratulations on making your first finals in a BOA regional (that I'm aware of).
Now let's go to Westfield HS, IN. Congratulations on your first finals as well! You're teaching and your kids are rising to meet the challenge presented! Now, be brave and make a quick move into Open Class A in ISSMA and get out of scholastic class! You scored higher than North Hardin (yes they're adapting to changes), and Decatur Central a competitor in Open Class A. You really shouldn't even have been in scholastic this year! Westfield gives this program all sorts of support. It's almost going to be anti climatic when you win Scholastic A Class.

Also… what was Chuck thinking with his mid show announcement 😂 I know it's a matter of preference, but I personally loved the style of shows LT had been producing the past few seasons. It was a style uniquely theirs in the BOA world and I always found myself so entertained. Agreed. I wasn't wild about their stuff from 15-17 but 18 was just so different. If this is what they need to do to be successful competitively, well, so be it. I still enjoyed this product. I just want to see bands unafraid to do different things, knowing they'll get rewarded for it. I have the same issue with DCI to be fair..

Perhaps the OP just meant that if they had practiced more out in the cold, they would have fewer tuning issues.

I can certainly confirm it was quite cold that morning and several the bands had some tuning issues. Madison Central sounded much better that night in finals. It could have also been a function of being tired since it was pretty early too. Either way, there were still several very entertaining bands that morning that I would love to get a chance to see again. Perhaps in a warmer part of the day lol
