If I recall correctly, Wake Forest (and Gaffney in 2018) were always week 4 regionals, this is going to be relatively late in the season for an NC regional. Going to be some great performances here

Going to be some great performances here The interesting wrinkle is that unless WCU moves to a date they haven't used before then either this show or the Johnson City show the week before will be on the same day. WCU traditionally has their show during their Fall break which is tentatively scheduled to run the week between the two BOA shows. So it could be either weekend.

Probably going to be another year of a lightweight lineup at WCU.

BOA would solve so many problems by just doing one big show in Charlotte... but I digress

BOA would solve so many problems by just doing one big show in Charlotte... but I digress Since there is no way the Panthers would approve use of Bank of America Stadium, you'll have to find an appropriate venue. Jerry Richardson Stadium at UNCC might be a suitable stadium for the performances, but would be a logistical nightmare for parking buses and equipment trucks. Richardson Stadium at Davidson College wouldn't be much better for parking and the "stadium" itself is tiny. Any Charlotte-area high schools you would consider a possibility? Is the old Memorial Stadium near downtown usable?

I don't think any of the high schools in Charlotte-Mecklenburg would be usable, none of them are large enough unfortunately.

Is the old Memorial Stadium near downtown usable? I'm pretty sure no high schools in Charlotte have a big enough stadium. Memorial stadium used to host Carolina Crown's home show and hosted the first 3 years of the Fall high school show that Crown puts on, but logistically it's not great. Parking for spectators is better now that there are parking decks next to the stadium but I don't think it could handle a show with 20+ bands for band parking and warmup areas. One possible alternative could be at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. The stadium looks big enough and looking at photos of the area I think band parking and warmups wouldn't be an issue. Spectator parking might be a problem though.

Is the old Memorial Stadium near downtown usable? Exactly. Unfortunately I can’t think of any We’ve all been over this issue several times on the boards and there is never a good answer. Obviously Bank of America would be the best, but yes the odds of that happening are slim to none. Who even knows what the price tag would be if allowed. Memorial stadium is actually fantastic for band, (nightbeat was great there), but once again kind of a logistical nightmare for parking/ trucks and warmup. And as a BOA event there would be even more performers than 8 drum corps. It’s just crazy to me Charlotte can’t offer something halfway decent - they have so much as it is. The location is perfect for bands from north and south Carolina, Tennessee ect. Huge airport. Many k-12 sports teams have their championships in Charlotte- especially travel soccer teams.

It's also on October 15th now not 22nd Neither of these changes have been made to the schedule page at marching.musicforall.org/schedule/ but both show up at marching.musicforall.org/events/As noted by marimba11 it probably doesn't make sense for Winston-Salem and Johnson City to be the same weekend, but Wake Forest has a home game on October 22, as does East Tennessee State.

Johnson City will be okay without the North Carolina bands, but BOA in North Carolina on the same weekend as WCU makes about as much sense as holding a marching band competition on a New York City outdoor basketball court.

It sucks but the 15th is the only weekend WCU could have their competition due to fall break. I wonder why Winston Salem got moved to that weekend as well, football game maybe?
