Since the HornRank team is covering this contest, I figured it needed its own thread. I couldn't find an official lineup for this show, so I gathered what info I could. Some usual attendees don't have websites or functioning calendars so a few are still up in the air. Any further contributory help is appreciated!
With BOA North Carolina and Johnson City happening this same weekend, it will be interesting to see what attendance is like.
AS OF 08/15/2022
Confirmed (7): Cambridge H.S., GA Clayton H.S., NC East Lincoln H.S., NC James F. Byrnes H.S., SC Jefferson H.S., GA Marvin Ridge H.S., NC Science Hill H.S., TN

Heard that this contest is at max capacity, should be fun Very surprising considering ETSU and Winston Salem. I love that ETSU is a dome environment (the only reason I am sure Tarpon goes), but it is in a weird spot geographically.

The tri-cities host a ton of large sporting events. ETSU was the home of grand nats many years ago.

I donβt mean it is in a bad spot in terms of proximity along the east coast generally, but it isnβt in Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Atlantaβ¦ large cities with many bands to pull from in each city. Itβs a bit of drive for everyone except DB and maybe Science Hill.

Byrnes will definitely win. With White Knoll and TL Hanna probably 2nd and 3rd.
It really is a shame this show had to happen this week of Winston-Salem AND Johnson City. I hope they donβt make this mistake again, but hey at least theyβre back.
Fabulous panel though, Beth is making the rounds.
Btw Riverside is Greenville, SC. Believe theyβre a 4A school and have mixed success here and there.

Pretty sure the 15th happened to be their only free weekend until November 12th but theyβre going to GN so this is what it had to be

There's a Tennessee high school named "Tennessee"?
It is a shame that the number of boa and central NC shows has really usurped this one of its North Carolina presence. East Lincoln should win, or maybe Marvin Ridge, but it was nice when Green Hope and Cary would give the out of state bands a run.

There's a Tennessee high school named "Tennessee"? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennessee_High_SchoolDave Loggins, who wrote the CBS theme music for the Masters, is one of their distinguished alumni, as well as Tennessee Ernie Ford.

There's a Tennessee high school named "Tennessee"? Tennessee High is in Bristol, Tennessee. Virginia High is in Bristol, VA. The city is split down the middle with the state line literally running down State Street. The very best graduate was my mom π

This is definitely one of the weakest years for NC representation and the show in general, but being the same day as two BOA shows in the region made it inevitable. I do agree East Lincoln has the inside track to taking the NC Roll of Honor. I have seen them and they are around the same level as they have been for a few years in both size and quality. Their guard is excellent as always but has shrunk. Definitely can't count out Marvin Ridge though.
