So OldSchoolTrumpet is that you in your avatar picture? PS: Yes, I am aware that I have an old picture as mine too. So for the official record, no I am not actually Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Yes, yes we do π You can find me at GN (almost) every year (I missed the two within weeks of my kids being born, but that was a good reason)

Very glad to learn about these forums. As I noted on the now-defunct Music for All forums, about a week before they attained that status, I had just written to MFA's CEO, with a very polite request --following up on a similar request to MFA's IT director a couple months prior-- that MFA designate moderator power to some longtime MFA participants of its choosing, in order to block spam and keep the forums a welcoming place for discussions. As I noted on the MFA forums, I planned to forward the same email, one at a time and every few days or so, to every other person on MFA's site until I at least got a response, even if the response was that they couldn't do anything about my request. And then, having confirmation that they were at least aware of the problem, I would have stopped.
But then I was offline for much of the next week, and when I checked in again, I found the MFA forums were gone. So I wrote one final email. Short, polite, but firm on this point: shutting down the forums with just a few days' notice and after having recently deleted significant content (and generally allowing other good content to be lost) was like burning down a library.
And I sent it in one mass email to everyone with a Music for All address. Something like 30 people. No response, unsurprisingly. I'm not even sure anyone saw it or if it was filtered to their junk mail. But I felt it was important to at least try to let the staff there know how Music for All treats the reasonable inquiries of paying customers (I've purchased both tickets and the streaming services on multiple occasions.) I know that if anyone at the company I work was so unresponsive to a patron request, they'd be firmly reprimanded.
But now that's done, and I move on.
- - - - - - - - - Is there a link on the HornRank webiste to these forums? I couldn't find one. It was Googling "music for all forums" that led me to a post on the Texas bands forum, where I'm not a member, but a link had been posted there to here.
(And I'm certainly not "great"! I think the more apt words are "longwinded" and "opinionated".)

I think Jeremiah is working out some issues before placing the link on the main Hornrank site. Yeah the fact that MFA took those down in such a short amount of time really stinks. I hope some of the regulars are able to find this once the marching season gets underway. Since it has much better organization and no Spam, I have been pretty pleased with it. I did get a message from MFA before they closed the forums saying they would send me my deleted posts. As you would expect, they never did send me anything.

I did get a message from MFA before they closed the forums saying they would send me my deleted posts. As you would expect, they never did send me anything. Considering that IIRC Dan said he couldn't even see them in the deleted threads that he could see as a mod, I think they were just blowing smoke. Shutting the forums down on such short notice was bad enough, but them deleting important threads for no reason and offering zero explanation really made me lose a lot of respect for the organization. I think the only way to get an actual response from them is to ask them face to face at a show, Eric Martin is known for walking around selling programs at shows. Granted, I wouldn't put it past them to have someone kicked out of a show for asking either.

Other emails to the same individuals - prompt response. It almost seems as though the forums were a sort of "that function which shall not be named."

Eric Martin even stopped by my post at Grand Nationals 2018 to say that he missed seeing me in 2017.
