Hornrank has a very special post to celebrate the newest induction! I'm pleased to have the distinction of announcing Hornrank's newest 1000 Post Club member...
boahistorybuff !
boahistorybuff marched with Flushing High School (Flushing, MI) in 1988, playing the saxophone in 1988 and 1989 and becoming the drum major in 1990 and 1991. After graduating, the Central Michigan University Chippewa Marching Band came calling, where Buff ended up marching two years with. To this day, Buff can still be found at band contests around the Detroit area where possible as an avid follower of MCBA contests.
Buff joined the Music For All forums in the later years when MFA/BOA began providing far less support, but quickly rose to become an extremely invaluable and irreplaceable member of the community. Years of watching BOA going all the way back to the 1980's prompted Buff to begin a thread of "Season Reviews" in which Buff would recount various different stories from the past along with insights. Far more than just listing results, these insights help provide incredible contexts behind why a program won that year along with some other personal anecdotes, funny moments, and tragedy sprinkled in. What Buff had unintentionally provided with the thread was an opportunity for many to return to their long dormant accounts or sign up to bring their lovely stories alive. In a way, the BOA forums saw an unintentional resurgence in connecting others the way it did when the forums first began.
Unintentional, automated deletion of the thread, however, halting any kind of momentum that remained. Shortly afterwards, the MFA/BOA organization announced the shuttering of the forums.
Once the word was spread, jeremiah announced the opening of the Hornrank forums, with one of the main reasons to help further archive and provide a place to replace the loss of Buff's incredible thread and all that was deleted with it. Since then, Buff has completed their season reviews under "BOA History 2.0 - SEASON REVIEWS". As of right now, Buff is in the midst of posting excerpts on historical shows under the "Vintage Videos" thread, rounding out the '90s and beginning the '00s soon. Buff had also recently posted in that same thread, celebrating his 1000th post- make sure you check it out! Both threads are absolutely amazing reads and I encourage all to glimpse through, choose a post, read, and enjoy the show in their free time.
Hornrank is indebted to many people that has helped the pageantry arts community flourish online, but are in particular exceptional debt to boahistorybuff for their contributions.
Congratulations!
