Now that pretty much all of the nation's heavy hitters have a BOA Regional or Super-Regional under their belt, the rankings should (hopefully) start getting pretty accurate. There are always surprises, though. Who knows what San Antonio and Grand Nationals will bring?

I know they’ve never competed in BOA (and I can’t help but notice that every single band ranked is a BOA band, even Chino Hills since they signed up for one or two), but I think Buhler (KS) should be heavily considered for top 10 in Class A. They would pretty handily take on the bottom two or three. Also, how are you doing with everything hostrauser?

I agree, and I was hoping to get a full recap from the KBA Championships before adding Buhler in. I may have to bite the bullet and see what I can do next week. KS/MO local judging is... unpredictable. All BOA bands because there are few (if any) non-BOA bands capable of cracking this Top 50. What it really comes down to is time. BOA is easy: recaps all in one spot, uploaded promptly, consistent judging (relatively). Some regional circuits are also great, but some are terrible. Chasing down scores from the upper Midwest is a chore. USBands has a good site, but their judging system leaves something to be desired. Still, I may look at trying to add some top USBands groups into the rankings, like Dartmouth (MA), Blackstone-Millville (MA), Downingtown West (PA), and North Penn (PA). Only Open Class groups, obviously. Again, time permitting. Chemo round 5 starts Wednesday. I'm managing. Nothing too terrible so far.

They got high marks for their Katy performances in the algorithm.

It’s been a year or so and I’m hopeful that your health is top notch these days! Your algorithm antics are missed. 😁

It’s been a year or so and I’m hopeful that your health is top notch these days! Your algorithm antics are missed. 😁 Thank you. After 17 rounds of chemo and a week of high-intensity radiation, PET scan in June showed no sign of active cancer anywhere. I stopped chemo in June, and have had regular blood work every six weeks. A CT scan in August was clear. My last blood work showed elevation of the cancer marker in my blood, so I have an MRI on Friday to see if we need to play cancer whack-a-mole anywhere. I'm in much better shape, health-wise, than a year ago, though. I've already purchased tickets for Grand Nationals in November. In late July, my father passed suddenly. He was ill, but everyone was expecting another 6+ months before the end stages, so his death still came as a shock. Unfortunately, it is this more than anything else that has prevented me from doing my rankings this year. As some of you probably have already experienced, when a parent or close loved one dies there are a million and one things that need to be done and a million and two pieces of paperwork to fill out. I'm still in the middle of all that, including trying to get his condo ready for sale from 2000 miles away (luckily we have "people on the ground" locally). So that's where I am. No rankings this year (and that includes not participating in the Horn Rank poll, sadly), but I'm around and lurking on the forums. I'm willing to meet up at Grand Nationals if there's anyone from Horn Rank who isn't already volunteering at the event.

I’m truly sorry for your loss and understand all the crazy things you have to do while still in the process of actually grieving. I’m also hopeful that your cancer markers will go down and stay DOWN. My 57 year old nephew is dealing with pancreatic cancer and it’s been a rollercoaster for him for sure as well. Best wishes to you sir and we look forward to the return of the almighty algorithm next year!!
