Might have to add myself to the “confirmed” list soon! Very Likely: LeanderMomma, TN/TX/AR FIFY

Very Likely: LeanderMomma, TN/TX/AR FIFY haha, this is true! And I am really rooting for Collierville and Bartlett, Tennessee to go to GN, and I’m currently a huge fan as well of Bentonville, Bentonville West, Fayetteville and Cabot high schools in Arkansas. Add in all my Texas loves, and it’s hard to keep up anymore!

Completely separate topic, but seeing that I can claim 3 states as “home” it made me wonder how many states all of you guys have lived in? And which do you most consider “home?”
I grew up in Tennessee (‘64 - ‘82). Went to college and got married in Arkansas (‘82 - ‘87). Moved back to Tennessee (‘87 - ‘97). Moved to Texas (‘97 - ‘20). Retired to Arkansas (‘20 - for ever).
I’m not sure which I consider home more…Tennessee or Texas, but I figure Arkansas will take over in the next few years in my mind.

Illinois ('87-'15) Fled to Indiana for lower property taxes; still work in Illinois ('15-present)

Completely separate topic, but seeing that I can claim 3 states as “home” it made me wonder how many states all of you guys have lived in? And which do you most consider “home?” Eight States and one District. Plus a pair of locations for summer jobs. Born in Washington, DC and lived there first nine months of my life. Married enlisted housing at Fort Benning, GA for the next nine months. Growing up time (through 6th grade) in Maryland (DC suburbs) - ten years. Junior high and high school in Southern Nevada - six years (with one summer in Colorado). College, got married, and had kids in Delaware - 19.5 years (with one summer during college in Arizona). Southern New Jersey - two years. Southwest Ohio is where I got heavily involved in marching band while my kids were in high school - 13 years. Northern Indiana - two years. Eastern North Carolina - 5.5 years and counting. "Home" is not a place. It is wherever the people I care most about and I can be together.

Kentucky again for 5 years (work and college)
Tennessee for 2 years (grad school)
All my next changes were job related:
Back to Kentucky for 2 years
Texas for 9 years Back to Kentucky for 3 years California for 1 year Virginia for 1 year Pennsylvania for 1 year Back to Texas for 7 years Arizona for 2 years and counting
Home is probably Kentucky, with Texas being a close 2nd.

This is a cute game!
I was born in Minnesota, and I’ve since lived in Maryland, Virginia, Texas, and Tennessee before settling down in Missouri. I won’t list out a ton of dates, but my dad worked in DC on 9/11 and Texas was the first place I was really old enough to remember. To keep this topical, here’s a band from each of those states that has been to or will be attending GN: MN: Rosemount MD: (okay I actually can’t think of one. Has there ever been one? History buffs pls inform at your convenience). VA: Bassett (placed 57th this year- not too shabby)! TX: To name one…Vista Ridge! I was about 300 miles away going to school in Burkburnett ISD. TN: Dobyns-Bennett, duh. Bartlett soon? MO: to avoid the obvious, shoutout to 2021 attendee Nixa, who placed a cool 45th. A future semifinalist if you ask me!
Missouri is definitely home. I like to claim Texas too, mainly because I could never call myself a Minnesotan with the way I despise any temperature below 60 degrees.

Born in Kentucky, Have Lived in: Kentucky Texas Tehran Tennessee Colorado Utah Virginia Maryland Tennessee Utah (became a grownup) Arkansas Texas Oklahoma Texas.
Out of all of those-many were 2 years or less. I lived in Maryland for 7 years, Utah total for 9, Texas so far for 10 and Oklahoma for 12.
Oklahoma feels like home- I only lived there once for the longest time of my entire life… Texas is feeling like home now- but a piece of me still feels like ok is.

Keller was not anticipated by me👀👀 one of the most consistent groups in the state, best of luck to them! Based on what the directors said and the message they sent to the students, it seems like UIL’s decision of how they will hold state every year is what led to Keller finally making the trip again. Just too bad they won’t be going to San Antonio this fall. See you soon LOS!
