Well we all learned that a web site crashing during Grand National Finals for band fans is like losing power during the super bowl for football fans.
Yes I could tell Box5 felt really bad. I know in life stuff happens.
I wanted to create this thread for those in the know to give us updates on what Box5 plans to do to make this right. I am sure it will take them a bit to figure out how to handle the situation. I would personally like the entire finals show as I had to restart the site three times during finals before it finally crashed.
I was actually waiting until Grand Nationals Finals to see Avon and Tarpon. Bummer.

Box5 has released a message on their Facebook:
"I wanted to let our friends know, that we at BOX5 are extremely devastated over the events that happened @ Grand Nationals yesterday. Having been on phone calls all day, we finally believe we have a solution, we hope will alleviate at least some of the sting of last night for our customers and band families out there. Pending approval, we plan to rebroadcast the Bands of America Finals broadcast @ 7pm eastern, central, mountain and pacific every day this coming week (Mon. Nov 14 - 18). We are waiting for final approvals from BOA and we are working feverishly to encode and upload the uninterrupted broadcast to our streaming platform.
While this solution is not "ideal", it does have a silver lining. The incredible performers I saw in Lucas Oil last night will be able to watch their amazing accomplishment this season. And we can celebrate alongside them as much as possible.
We will reach out to all finals customers via email with instructions on how to watch. This email will contain other important information. Be on the lookout for this email.
I hope, from the bottom of my heart, you can find a way to forgive us and I guarantee we are already working on ways to improve our web infrastructure so this doesn't happen again for any of our performing members, friends, families and fans.
Sincerely, Tim Snyder"

As sweet as that is of him, isn’t that like…very illegal? Also not a fan of the emotional manipulation of shifting the problem to BOA. It’s stated that it isn’t approved yet, so if BOA does the smart thing and says no, it’s now BOA’s fault in the eyes of the fans. Then the part that talks about the kids getting to watch themselves…BOX5 has put themselves in a very risky position where if this doesn’t happen, they’ll have even MORE angry and upset people. It’s a nice idea, but I don’t understand how it’s supposed to actually happen.
I really appreciate taking action to mend the situation, but this really should have gone through some proofreading and peer review before going out…

You have a very good point. This would technically be a rebroadcast which may need to have licensing agreements. I dont know all of the legal technicalities. We shall see what happens in the next couple of days. At 30 dollars a pop, Box5 gets a lot of money off Grand National Finals. Perhaps if licensing is the issue, maybe Box5 should secure the necessary licensing for the 12 finalist bands. It would not be a quick solution and rebroadcast would probably not occur for many months.

Well Box5 has been hammered on Google reviews and social media due to the finals debacle. I can understand how the president of the company is pretty frantic. It is certainly going to be a costly mistake. Hopefully they contact all of those who purched finals (I dont think many saw the apology on YouTube). If we have to wait for licensing, then so be it. If they cant get through the legal loopholes, then it is going to be a pretty big stain on this company.

Looks like Box5 has come through. Instructions for watching the rebroadcast should be in the email you used to register your account. I am assuming it is 7pm each night this the week in your time zone.

Looks like Box5 has come through. Instructions for watching the rebroadcast should be in the email you used to register your account. I am assuming it is 7pm each night this the week in your time zone. Anyone have any ideas if you didn't receive this email? This is what I received from Box5: (You may want to check your Spam folder as that is where my email ended up) "We understand that many of you were ready to watch finals and tuned in to find it not the most ideal experience. While the situation was not what we wanted, we hope that a re-broadcast will help you and your family be able to share the moment together and relive the event in the best way possible. We will be re-broadcasting the Grand National Finals this week @ 7pm in your timezone. Here are the instructions Desktop / Mobile Device
visit box5tv.com In the upper right hand corner of the screen you will see the word LOGIN on a desktop or an account icon on a mobile device. Once logged in you will see the word account - click on it and a drop down menu will appear. Click on the word Subscription Once on this page you should see a panel that says YOUR SUBSCRIPTION(s) In this panel you will see a link that says Grand National - Finals (Re-Broadcast) (timezone) Click on the timezone that works for you and watch the show. Both angles, High Camera and Directors Cut will be available to watch, however, they will not be synchronized as a live show would be. TV App (AppleTV / ROKU / FireStick)
Go to your selected TV device and open the BOX5-TV app. Make sure you sign out the app. Log back in to your account on the app. The app should populate with all available viewings and you should see Grand National - Finals (Timezone). Click on the timezone that works for you and watch the show. Both angles, High Camera and Directors Cut will be available to watch, however, they will not be synchronized as a live show would be."

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy. I'm just very, very curious to see the legality of all this.

Does anyone else not see the link in your subscription box as its supposed to be? Or does it not appear until 7?
Edit, nevermind I got it!
