I can smell the students asking what people thought about their show and comparisons to other groups from a mile away...
EDIT: Previous comment in question deleted. My senses have not wavered. 🙏🏼🙌🏼

I'm glad the BOA did this Regional. This is a great venue for Northern bands that has difficulties going to the midwest BOAs. I can see the likes of Eden Prairie, Bellevue West, and Brandon Valley attending this soon. I'm very happy with my North bands Rosemount, Independence, and Lincoln for representing incredibly in the finals, bravo! Thank you for giving us all a fantastic night of performance! I agree. The indoor metal roof affected sound quality, but I think overall this Regional was a success. There are some lessons learned that will make future Regionals at this location even better. Edited to add - I just noticed the post and view count for this thread. Looks like it was very popular topic on the forum also!

Where has this Independence band been hiding? They are really good! I looked them up, 679 students 7-12, so what, maybe 300 10-12?? Baldwin HS is less than 400 kids

" I'm glad the BOA did this Regional. This is a great venue for Northern bands that has difficulties going to the midwest BOAs. "
This show will become a small band show because there is no room in the pit area for BIG band drills.

In the future, all bands will know of the short distance between the field and stands and adjust accordingly.

A lot of people complained about not being warned ahead of time, etc. It’s SUCH a fantastic overall location to host a regional, but I do hope they can find a more marching band-friendly facility.

Eh, just go back to Memorial Stadium in Champaign like they wanted to last year! That doesn't exactly hit the same location note, being 325 miles SE of Cedar Falls. Most of the target groups for this regional might as well go to Indy if going to Champaign (especially the MN, WI, SD groups)

" This show will become a small band show because there is no room in the pit area for BIG band drills. With the pit room, the bands should be able to make adjustments. Its the sound in the dome that's probably going to be more problematic and harder to engineer. If they want to move, there's TCF Bank Stadium (UofMN) and US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis. That said the UNI Dome should be fine.

"Got a glance at the finals recap. VPI judge gave Blue Springs a J.J. Pipitone-esque margin over the field. That was enough to make the difference." WGI went to a double judging panel for finals along time ago; maybe need for reg.
