I think Mustang should be in the Fab 5 over Coweta, but I just think even without Cartwright Mustang could beat a mid-season 75 (Coweta @ AZ) Coweta isn't in the fab 5. The fab 5 are Broken Arrow, Union, Jenks, Bixby, and Owasso. I do think that if mustang has another good season, they could earn a spot there

This is a cool thread. What states are missing? I want to play but not repeat. I haven’t seen any Nebraska yet!

There are a few very good bands in those states. Bellevue West, Nebraska and Lincoln, South Dakota come to mind, but there are several others worth being mentioned. Wyoming doesn't have a very big marching band scene, but it does exist there. I had a friend from there who marched.

Here's my attempt at North Carolina: 1. Cleveland 2. Green Hope 3. Panther Creek 4. Cary 5. Mooresville 6. Green Level 7. Ardrey Kell I'd take out Green Level as far as 2019 goes. They were 3rd in their class behind Sanderson and Middle Creek at Cary Band Day, and not all that close to them. But 2019 was their first year and it's a good bet that they will improve quickly. The other six are a pretty good pick for the top 6 in the state at the moment. A list of the best bands in NC is also very VERY fluid from year to year. Cary, Green Hope and Panther Creek have maintained their position at the top for the last decade and each had their years as the best one of the group. But the rest of a top 10 list changes pretty significantly year to year.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how Green Level does at the Maryland and Virginia regionals; I'm expecting a strong showing from them at both venues. I'm also eager to see how Green Hope and Cary are going to face off against the tough competition at Nats this year.

What about AZ? 1. Mountain ridge 2. Desert Vista 3. Sandra day O’Connor 4. Corona Del sol 5. Millennium I wouldn't put Sandra Day O'Connor that high up. They're certainly a great band but have been pretty up and down the past decade, though I suspect they're about to become consistently great under their new director, who used to teach at a big Texas school (Vista Ridge?). I think a more accurate list would look like: 1. Mountain Ridge 2. Desert Vista 3. Corona del Sol 4. Millennium 5. Casa Grande

I'd like to look into these when I get the time, but I can already tell you that Harrison is the best in GA by quite a bit. Walton, Milton, and Mill Creek are also up there. It doesn't look like a lot of Colorado bands compete in BOA, but Air Academy, Fossil Ridge, Rampart, and Loveland come to mind.

I’ll do the task of ranking Mississippi bands; although a lot of these are interchangeable, this is my opinion:
1.) DeSoto Central H.S. 2.) Hernando H.S. 3.) Clinton H.S. 4.) Southaven H.S. 5.) Petal H.S. 6.) Oak Grove H.S. 7.) Biloxi H.S. 8.) Lewisburg H.S.
Most of this is determined by BOA appearance and performance and also by State Championships. Top 3 can all be interchanged depending on the person, and so can 4-6. I also think DeSoto could solidify their spot as the top band of Mississippi if they continue make finals at Regionals and possibly make Semi-Finals for the second time at Grand Nationals. A Super Regional finals appearance would also help them greatly. Clinton could overtake Hernando if they continue to make Regional finals also.

Did something happen to Petal in the last couple years? I feel like they used to win pretty much everything in Mississippi. I haven't followed Mississippi high school bands since I graduated from Biloxi in 2017.

I’ll try Colorado, legacy high school goes at first for their 11 state championship wins and appearance at BOA which fossil ridge has not done. Fossil ridge follows in close second with 6 state victories. Honestly to lazy to list more but overall these 2 bands have taken first and second place for the past 17 or so years so really these are the two best bands.

... and appearance at BOA which fossil ridge has not done. Fossil Ridge has competed in BOA. This year they placed 4th in Flagstaff, 2nd place in 2022 Flagstaff, and 2019 8th at St. George.

New Mexico is a little weird, especially with the conflicting comps this year. Overall, Clovis still reigns with the rest being somewhat close. Score wise, Volcano Vista is next, though not really concrete as they never completed with Cleveland directly

I just got the two mixed up, sorry for the confusion.
