Hello all. Many here are much more experienced in the indoor arena than I am and I was wondering if someone could give me some clarification on WGI's combined schools policy.
The policy states: The purpose of the combined schools policy is to encourage participation from scholastic groups that may have limited resources while keeping the integrity of the scholastic classes intact. Combining schools for the purpose of competitive advantage is contrary to this policy and will not be approved.
My question is if there is only one school in a district that has an ensemble, but no other school in the district offers an ensemble in that discipline, can that school accept students from the others and not be considered to be doing it "for the purpose of competitive advantage"? Assume that this school does have the necessary resources to be able to offer the ensemble to just it's own students and the purpose of offering it to students from the other schools is only for giving them the opportunity to be in an ensemble that their school does not have.
