I’m so in love with this current incarnation (IDK if that’s the right word 🤔) of Troopers and I can’t wait to see what they do with their new color guard team! I’m betting it’s going to be a special year for those kids!

Jersey Surf: "Surfadelic" How long have Mitch Rogers/Spaeth/Don Hill been with them? I thought Surf was low on funds... Since 2019! They created Surf's wonderful "Fantasea" show that year that really took Surf from a few seasons in a row spent well below the Semis threshold to comfortably making Semifinals that year. I really thought the design team was taking Surf places - and they still are! - but Covid just absolutely walloped Surf, as it did to almost all Open Class & lower-end World Class corps. But, on the other hand, part of me wonders if keeping that terrific design team intact is maybe one of the few things that kept Surf alive & competitive the last two seasons as they attempt to bounce back - they fielded two wonderful, fun designs that met the members where they were (both in size & talent level) and frankly were smart, well-designed shows that has allowed the corps to (seemingly) get back on its feet post-Covid while still entertaining and recreating the member home & experience from pre-Covid. Honestly, seeing what a strategic & intact design team can do for a lower tier group (whether in DCI or BOA) has been a lot of fun for me to watch - Surf really was a classic case of just needing a good/smart design team.

This is pretty cool. The Troopers have posted a MIDI mock-up of their 2024 show on YouTube! Can't wait to listen to this one live!

I think Bluecoats have concepts, but BD does a better job making them grandma friendly

I suppose a concept which is unreadable does have less opportunity to offend grandma.
I have come to accept the fact that as much as I respect Mr. Balash, he and I have very, very different tastes in drum corps programming.
